OT - Panthers fan sucker punches Eagles fan during TNF

I stand at games. I paid for my ticket and it's my choice.

Don't like it? Tough luck. I'm not moving from the seat I paid for.

That's why I don't like going to Carver for basketball. You feel like you're in a library. The old blue-haired season ticket holders will bitch about you even making noise during the game, let alone standing up.

Wow sound like a real treat to be around at games. Sure your standing really accomplishes a lot and I bet really gives the guys on the field that extra motivation... you're awesome keep it up....Funny thing where I sit at kinnick last game had a guy like you. Took a while until the guy realized how big of a dousche he was standing the whole game and finally sat during some plays.

I will never keep sitting when my view is obstructed by someone standing. I would rather stand but will sit when those around me are sitting and my view is not obstructed. What annoys me the most is when I'm standing because the rows in front of me are standing and some jackwad behind me is getting mouthy telling everyone to sit.

I was blessed with virtually no temper. I think with great clarity in crisis situations. About the only thing that sets me off is rudeness (and sometimes arrogance). I basically come unglued.

I'm with you 100% on what you have stated Nile. Nicely done.
So in other words you actually weren't blessed with no temper and great clarity in crisis situations....

You're an idiot.

I would bet almost anything the guy has at least one orbital fracture, and possibly a fracture or two on his cheekbone. That was a wicked punch and totally barbaric to throw a punch, let alone, an old guy who posed no physical threat whatsoever. I hope they throw the book at the D-Bag panther fan.

If you pay to get for a seat just to stand then do everyone a favor and move around where you aren't obstructing anyone's view. The person behind you young or old also have rights and they bought their seat and should be allowed to peacefully watch the game if THEY wish. No doubt alcohol did play a part in the otherwise civilized looking punchers actions. It appeared his girl friend even fell down as they were leaving.

As for the blue hairs as you call them. If not for them Carver would be pretty empty.

Saw a similar thing happen at a Vikings game a few years ago. Young kid and his girlfriend stood the entire pregame and into the first quarter. The older man behind had asked them to sit several times with rude responses and he then put his hand on the dudes shoulder. The kid turned and clocked him. Broke his glasses, cut him. A group subdued the guy until security took him away. Ugly scene. Both were Vikings fans. As a Packer fan, I wasn’t surprised. The Vikings fight song repeatedly played in the metrodome at 110 dB will drive anyone to the edge of sanity.

Usually I don’t stand, but I was during PSU’s last drive and actually had a guy behind me tell me to sit down. Said no thanks.

Just have no idea what has happened to people nowadays. Its a f'ing sport people! I realise that people have there allegiance to a certain team but if you get that worked up over grown men playing a kids game you got deeper issues.
Its crap like this that has turned me off more and more from watching sports. Its all about money now and people take it waaayyyy to serious.

NFL games have become a joke anyway! Bad football + drunk stupid fans = terrible. But agree if your life depends on your team winning or losing on Sunday you got some serious small penis syndrome going on! Good god get a life!!

You reap what you sow. That kid will get his someday if he doesn't change his ways .When it happens he will cry foul.I agree nfl is not a good watch for me to much bs i do keep track of hawks in league.Always been a college guy.

Being drunk and doing it doesn't make it any better than being sober and doing it.
I get that it doesn't make it any better. Just saying that I'd hope anyone in control of their faculties wouldn't even consider doing something like that.

I can just see this prick in a wife beater shirt.

What a dick.
And I'm sure the girl with him thinks he's a great guy.

Hope somebody knocks you on your ass. You will more than deserve it. You are the same person who would bitch and moan if somebody stood in front of you the entire game. Glad to know "It's All About You" you narcissist.

Oh, c'mon. It's very well known that first responders, trauma surgeons and astronauts just lose their heads when someone takes their parking spot when they were there first.

If you call someone a racial slur what do you expect? I’m not condoning it but I mean really this isn’t the first time someone has been pummeled for calling people racial slurs.

We were on the 35-yard line on the Press Box side and didn't sit the entire game except for maybe two or three plays. Hardly even sat between quarters haven't had that happen very often at kinnick

At the NTS game I was sitting in Sec G row 63. A lard ass jerk in from of me kept answering and making calls on his cell phone. He was so fat it took him 30 secs to get the phone out of his pants pocket and then he stood to talk. This went on for 3/4 of the game until his wife/gf/whatever told him to turn it off and sit down.
Certainly hope the asshole who punched out the (looks younger than I am) old guy gets some serious jail time. Being called a name does not justify busting the man's face.

Called a name?
The racist dumb**** called him a racial slur.

Agree racial slurs are always uncalled for, but the assailant was deliberately being an ass to everyone around him the entire game, so he is primarily responsible.

I would add he might have mostly gotten away with it if he'd only punched the guy once for the slur, but I don't see that happening given the video.

Not me. I will however smash in the face of anyone who camps out in in the left lane so I can't pass, though.

Sorry, I'm old and wear hearing aides and I didn't catch what racist word he used. There is an old saying that moms and dads taught their children many years ago when we came home upset because someone called us a name. "Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me!" One more pearl of wisdom that has gone by the wayside in this progressively aggressive, nearly out of control society. Exactly why I have a permit to carry and I do.

why can't people be cognizant of others around them? if you have older people behind you, don't stand a lot. if people in front of you stand during an exciting play, i see no problem standing as well; but then sit down.

unfortunately we are becoming a very selfish society and don't know how to treat each other.

Well put Fransdaman.

For someone in their 20's to punch someone in their 60's.....he better have done something really really bad to you. He better hope the family of that guy doesn't come after him.

Agree. My guess is this guy is an asshole when he is sober too.
Anyone capable of doing this has some serious issues. This is wrong on so many levels. Interesting a violent punch like that was simply a slap on the wrist.

We're becoming a society shifting toward individualism ... caring about ourselves and our own welfare, but not caring much about others. Some people simply don't know how to act in public ...

Social media, while it connects us to others, leads to greater self-centeredness as people strive to make their “presence” known. Much of social media is “all about me.”

Finally, this punk is simply an ahole ...:(:)
