Did anyone watch the 3v3 game with Ricky Davis? He played in the first game against Jayson Williams and Rashard Lewis. I don't know how much stock I put in this league but it was fun to watch him play again.

Anyone else watch?

I watched the later games with Allen Iversons team and then Reggie Evans team. I actually enjoyed it.

Here's an interview with Ricky Davis on how he got involved in the three on three. I would love to see some video of this.

I never watch NBA basketball so I couldn't tell you the first thing about Ricky Davis other than the first thing you see in Google searches are generally "Ricky Davis ball hog". Haha

The guys as you can expect are past their youthful prime but they still had the intensity to compete. Many of us know the feeling. Not the greatest bball you will ever see but fun none the less when nothing else is going on. Enjoyed watching it.

Really interesting rules like the 4 PT shot also and 1 shot fouls for 2,3 or 4 depending on where the foul was committed.

Not to hijack the thread...... I'm not really that familiar with Ricky Davis because I was not around here when he was at Iowa and don't follow NBA basketball....

Does Ricky Davis and Reggie Evans spend much time around the Iowa basketball program or ever come back?

I

I didn't realize Reggie was playing.

I feel this would be a great game for Thunder Doug Thomas. All that space, just constant oops.

Reggie's team was beaten soundly by Al Harrington, Rashad McCants, Dion Glover, Kenyon Martin, etc. Reggie's team was basically him and Steven Jackson. Larry Hughes & Brian Cook (ex-IL) did not do much. Harrington was a very tough cover for Evans. Reggie boarded like normal but was limited offensively to bunnies around the bucket.

Ricky was a young stud from Davenport North that was a one & done at Iowa under Dr Tom. Don't think he's been back much if at all. He was in the draft class with Tracy McGrady and I remember him kind of being overshadowed and / or him wanting to be on that level in the NBA.

Reggie was a 2 year player from JUCO for Alford. He used to come back a little but not sure if he's been back in the last 4-5 years.

He was the "star" (if can have a star on a 17 win team) of the last pre-LeBron Cleveland team. He averaged 20/5/5 for the 02-03 team. Granted, at that point in his career, he was all about Ricky.

Ricky was same age as me. Played against him more than enough in camps/Future Stars. Have a couple of funny stories with him. One was in the tunnel after a Nuggets game when he played with the Timberwolves. Oddly enough Evans played with the Nuggets that year. Wife, daughter & I got to go hang out with both teams after game. Carmelo was actually cool back then.

Long post but the Cleveland Cavaliers invited the top 64 players in the state to a camp at DM Roosevelt my senior year. That was the year of the lockout & the Cavaliers management had to leave the gym when Hoiberg came in (I believe he was playing with Pacers at that time).

True story, Fred without even trying made 27 straight 3 pointers (high school 3's but moving around the peremiter on the 5 different spots). More than 5 times around the arc!
