OT: What's going on at the Univ. of Missouri? Black players announce boycott

It is foolish...seems as if he/she is saying...I am black and this is how I feel...and so should other blacks(blacks are wrong to feel different...from his/her black opinion)...
If this was going on at Iowa today...a lot of people on this board saying the football team is wrong to protest...would be calling for the president to resign to protect the chance of a Natty or Rose bowl for the Hawks...smh
Wrong. There are more important things than a game. Being held hostage by fringe elements requires strength and courage to overcome.
Show me the proof before I comment. They say there was a racist symbol smeared in a bathroom, i want to see pictures of it. Do they know 100% that it was a student at the university and a racist or a some young dumb kid playing a prank? Do they have evidence of any of these issues? Or is it all heresy.
Sorry but this day in age of technology there better be some videos, pictures, and evidence to prove that this stuff is going on. Otherwise you have a group of people who are going around making crap up, just to get their way.
Im sorry but Mizzou Football coach hanlded this wrong. I realize his players were upset, but they are getting a "FREE EDUCATION" and they were going to boycott and leave their teammates high and dry? Good lesson to teach the kids, we will bend over backwards for you so you can get your way. I would of said, "you signed an agreement saying you would play college football for this university." If you can't full fill your obligation, you can go elsewhere. I am sure Pinkel would of been fired shortly after, but you get the idea.
edit: Please understand that I feel while the football players have a voice, boycotting to play and participate in team activities was the wrong move. Coach pinkel should of told them that the coaching staff and AD would go to the president on their behalf and speak for them. I just thought that was wrong for them to leave the rest of the teammates (some who were the race as them) high and dry. That's not the right message kids should be seeing.

Where do you get the notion that he didn't listen and a simple meeting would have resolved this? He did meet with them. He also met with the student doing the hunger strike. He also put out a statement condemning any racist behavior saying it has no place on campus. He also kicked out the one student they actually found who made a racist comment.
What he didn't do is cave to their ridiculous demand list which including having him apologize on behalf of the police department, admit his white guilt and fund social justice centers around campus. Some of the people that post here really could stand to do some reading on the issue before posting.

You can go after people for hate crimes after college, as well. If I worked for a company that had openly racist employees, and the CEO did nothing about it, then they could (and should) go after him. It's not 100% the responsibility of those being persecuted and denigrated to defend themselves. Businesses/universities/government entities have a responsibility to make a safe and comfortable working or learning environment. If you can't get down with that there's probably nothing further to discuss with you.

Well I know one university that will not be seeing an increase in enrollment in future years. Probably everyone from Ferguseon, MO will attend school there. Why would you go to school there now? Seriously if I am a recruit, I am trying to get out of there ASAP. That school is a sinking ship, because of this.
