Other games.

My favorite stats are a shot clock violation on Purdue with the shot clock never going below 5 and Chris Collins not getting a tech for grabbing a Purdue players arm during play.

Boo hoo weve had botched calls keep us out of the tourney. You lost a road game in Feb no one cares.

I still remember what Jim Bain did to Iowa over Lute's last seasons there, and at least two of the most ridiculous games were against Purdon't. Everyone talks about one call, but he screwed Iowa for entire games and seasons at a level that would be hard to match.

Big game tonight. #14 Indiana at Northwestern (8:00 PM - BTN).

If IU loses, they have 6 losses. Then on Sunday we hopefully give the Cats their 6th loss.

What a crazy, crazy season.

Current B1G Standings:
1. Purdue (23-3, 12-3)
2. Indiana (18-7, 9-5)
2. Northwestern (18-7, 9-5)

4. Illinois (17-8, 8-6)
4. Iowa (16-9, 8-6)
4. Maryland (17-8, 8-6)
4. Michigan State (16-9, 8-6)
8. Michigan (14-12, 8-7)
8. Rutgers (16-10, 8-7)
10. Wisconsin (15-10, 7-8)
11. Penn State (15-11, 6-9)
12. Nebraska (13-14, 6-10)
13. Ohio State (11-14, 3-11)
14. Minnesota (7-16, 1-12)

Who would have predicted Rutgers starting to lose, once they got to the "easier part" of their schedule? Nebraska fell apart after having a bunch of injuries, but has started to play much better recently.

Hawks need to beat OSU, which destroyed us a few weeks ago, and then move on to the next game (NW), and the next...

NW and IU both have extremely difficult remaining schedules, so it is possible that 2nd - maybe 5th place could finish with 12-8 records. Should be exciting to watch.

Here are the results we're looking for (rest of) this week, in the B1G;

Wed, 2/15
Indiana @ Northwestern - NW ideally; but whoever loses, it works for Iowa

Thur, 2/16
Purdue @ Maryland - PU
Ohio St @ Iowa - IOWA

Sat, 2/18
Illinois @ Indiana - either result works; but ILL if IU beats NW tonight (barf, no matter who!)
Rutgers @ Wisconsin - as much as it pains me to say it, Wisky (barf!!!)
Michigan St @ Michigan [if played] - Michigan
Penn St @ Minnesota - other than PSU or Gopher fans, nobody cares

Sun, 2/19
Ohio St @ Purdue - will never happen, but an OSU win helps out rest of top half of B1G
Maryland @ Nebraska - NEB (barf!!)
Iowa @ N'western - IOWA

Good to see Clemson get back on track tonight. Would be helpful if they play well down the stretch.

I’m thinking IU gets NW 68-63 tonight. So bet opposite of my pick.

Watched some of the 'Bama @ Tennessee game earlier, and been watching the Xavier @ Marquette game since ....

and it ain't just the B1G where officiating sucks.

Also ain't just the B1G where rough physical defense played is allowed.

Been almost exactly like watching a couple of B1G games.

Louisville had a chance to tie in the final possession against Virginia down 3. Louisville had a full 30 seconds and failed to get a shot off.

NW showing how to double the post. Be agressive be physical.

Can't be afraid to foul.

If you're going to be afraid of fouling then don't double, all you're doing is leaving a guy wide open.
Unfortunately, Iowa players are conditioned to be afraid to foul.

What with Fran's "2 fouls in the first half and you're coming out for a long time, if not the rest of the half" rule.

Larry Scirotto putting his mark on this game.

Two techs on IU's bench, one of them on Woodson - Woodson's deserved, for touching Little Larry.

Hawks really need to take care of business tomorrow night, because the game in Evanston on Sunday could be a very frustrating ~2 hours for us fans.

Unless Iowa is scorching the nets from behind the arc, then all bets are off.

Nah, they'll be all played out and overlook the Hawks. Classic trap game.

The B1G is all about the home floor this year.

Don't think I've seen it so lopsided as it is this year. Even Purdue can be quite vulnerable on the road.

What a glorious night so far....just validates a couple of things. Any given day or night in BB especially this year in the B1G....the people complaining about the Hawk 12 point victory on the road against Minny.....well are clueless. Also, to point out, two of the better defensive teams in the B1G are the Illini and Rutgers...the Illini give up 93 in the loss and Rutgers at home give up 82 and to add against a pretty good offensive team in Nebby who is #4 in the B1G in offense.......and Iowa beat Rutgers twice who of course is numero uno........hmmmmm.....again, crazy game....like a box of chocolates.
Still validatez no one boxes out any more truly a lost art
35-17!

This ain't your Dad's Northwestern.

Used to be if you allowed 40+ pts to them in a half, you really sucked.

(NW at 35 now, 1:53 to half)

39-20 NW, halftime

(would have been an even bigger margin if NW doesn't go full stupid a couple times)

NW only 5-18 from 3, yet have a 19 point lead, 39-20 at half.

Good thing for Hoosiers they are not hitting their 3’s that well.

NW beating the living crap out of Indiana. 39-20.

When did Indiana get up to #14??
I think they won 7 of their last 8, or something. They lost 3 in a row including the game at CHA, and I am one of the people who left them for dead in conference play. Then they got hot.

They've been beating everyone before tonight.

NWs defense is impressive.

They employ the foul constantly strategy and as usual it helps way more than it hurts.

If you set the tone right off the bat that you are going to foul all game no matter what the reffs just accept it and adjust.

I really wish Fran would figure this out instead of employing the fear of fouling defense.

This is NOT basketball, at least not the way its intended to be played.

BUT, if that's the way the game is now - and it is, unfortunately - then Fran does need to accept it at some point and start doing the same.

There's a reason that 'good defense' can and does trump the best offense in the conference - when it happens.
