Other games.

I joined at the end. So I missed all the calls before. Just my two cents.
Jones shoved a guy in the back going up for a dunk and no call. Charges on blocking calls and suddenly in the second half everything is a foul. Just weird crappy reffing all the way around. I honestly don't know what to think other than i hope Iowa never gets those officials for even an exhibition game!

Iowa State got what they deserved…they called the mugging, the reaching, the grabbing, the moving screens, and the body contact Iowa St normally gets away with and they just never adjusted.

Osunyiyi is a baffling player. He has a tendency to just take himself out of games with silly fouls. His attitude just seems off when that happens. Without his rim protection and easy shots inside, this ISU team is closer to an NIT team than a serious tournament contender

UW/PSU going OT.

Here's hoping that Lundy isn't so hurt he can't contribute in these 5 minutes.

Jalen pickett has only shot 11 free throws in the last 8 games. He handles the ball more than anyone in the country. Pretty crazy

Northwestern converted time and again on the offensive end over the last 5-6 minutes of that OSU game. They let OSU back in it late, but hung on. NU hit some big 3’s late in shot clock. OSU is a total mess.

OSU beat Iowa pretty handily. Hopefully the Hawks can return the favor.

Maryland beats Penn State in the early game today.

Rutgers at Illinois just tipped off on FS1.

Terrible call by a B1G ref, strange.... Nebraska players arms are RAKED as he tries to pass on the move. Calls a travel.

Yea.... Travelled cause his arms were held.

LOL. Chucky with hero ball. Tie game, Wisconsin calls timeout and Chucky just dribbles around the NBA 3point range...

Chucks up a contested step back 3 at the buzzer. BRICK.

OVERTIME. Neither team scored the last 2 mins

What was that sound?

Was that Wisconsin's bubble stressing its popping point??

Anyone catch the ISU/OkSt. game? Another 20 fouls in the second half at the under 8 min to. Nobody from ISU could hit free throws. Somewhere around 50% from the line. Oklahoma St. gets another big resume win while ISU drops 2 in a row.

Going to be hard for Wisky or Michigan to get into the dance. Seems like ISU is coming back to reality, although the B12 is tough.

Quietly, Mary Land might be a very good position to get a double bye in the BTT. They have a favorable remaining schedule.

The B1G is a logjam after PU. IU got an enormous boost by winning in Ann Arbor, but has a really tough remaining schedule. There could be a real log jam around 12-8. Rutgers still likely to be in the top 4, although the loss today to Illannoy makes that far less certain.

If Hawks can make it to 12-8, which will almost have to include a win tomorrow and Thursday against OSU, I think they would win most tiebreakers. MSU might be the only competing team with the tiebreaker right now against Iowa, which the Hawks could eliminate by beating them at home. Hope the Hawks can finish strong.

ISU came apart at the seams today.

Have always felt Goodman is kind of a clown. More of a player’s ass kisser than journalist. Never saw that headline before just now, the implication being Howard will be a much better coach than Woodson. Yesterday certainly didn’t exhibit that. On a day IU didn’t have much in the tank offensively, UM’s O behind Howard, was held to 0 points in the last 5 minutes.

Woody is now 2-1 vs UM/Howard. UM comes back to AH to close the regular season. Hopefully that will make it 3-1.

Didn’t know until recently Goodman has a daughter at IU.

Just going strictly off of KenPom lines, he has the standings looking like:
Purdue 18-2
Rutgers 14-6
Indiana 13-7
Iowa 12-8
Maryland 12-8
Illinois 12-8
Michigan St. 11-9
Michigan 10-10
Northwestern 10-10
Wisconsin 8-12
Ohio State 7-13
Penn State 6-14
Nebraska 6-14
Minnesota 1-19

Now obviously there's going to be upsets along the way in the last month (the computers still like Ohio State a fair amount as well). Should be a fun last few weeks.

How does OSU's coach survive there after how this season has gone? Will Gard still be around if they don't make the tourney?

I'm guessing Holtmann's seat is getting hot, but they'll likely retain him for another year--he's made the tournament 7 straight years (8 if you count 2020) dating back to his first season at Butler + he has a top 10 recruiting class coming in. If they fire him, he will immediately become the top target for a bunch of power 6 schools.

As for Gard, he's won the Big Ten 2 of the past 3 years. They may pull a Chryst and fire him, but I would guess that they keep him at least another year similar to Holtmann. The problem with Gard is those fans have been spoiled with how Fickell immediately came in and upgraded their recruiting drastically. Not sure that would work with basketball. Like Fran, Gard has been living off of 3 star recruits that outshine their rating and occasionally sprinkling in a local 4 star kid here and there. The biggest difference I see, is that Iowa is slowly breaking into the New England area prep schools and getting guys out of there fairly consistently (not always our top targets). Wisconsin fans are getting sick of recruiting classes being filled with 3 star Minnesota and Wisconsin kids because Gard doesn't even seem to be trying to make inroads elsewhere.

My guess is no Big Ten coaches get fired this season, but Holtmann and maybe even Shrewsbury are looked at as possible hires for other jobs.

When was this KenPom Projection? If Rutgers is going 14-6, that means they will have won out. While they definitely have a cupcake schedule rest of the way, they do have to go to Wisky and Penn St. Hopefully they can lose at least 1, if not both of the those. They host Northwestern and Michigan too. I see 4-2 for Rutgers, so 12-8.

KenPom has them favored in every remaining game which is what I was referencing. Those road games you mentioned are Rutgers -2 and Rutgers -1 though so essentially toss-ups. It's just a computer algorithm at the end of the day, it's not going to be perfect (though the Vegas lines are often very close to the KenPom lines).
