Lets try it like this Richard, or does everyone just call you DICK?

IOWA, would get more people to a practice, then you wanna bees can get to a match! DORK!

Yet they can't get many of them to show up for a dual even after they paid for tickets.

I'm guessing it's snowing in Iowa today....

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue wrestling won four of its matches on Sunday, but lost in its first dual of the season to visiting Rider 23-13.

The Boilermakers (0-1, 0-0 Big Ten) won the opening bout of the afternoon before surrendering the next three to dig themselves into a 10-3 hole. Wins in three of the next four tied things up between the two sides with just two matches to go. The Broncs won the decisive weights at the end however and took the dual. Four Purdue wrestlers made their dual debuts for head coach Tony Ersland's side in the loss.

Sophomore #8 Matt Ramos (6-0) put Purdue in the lead early with a 12-5 decision over Tyler Klinsky. The Lockport, Ill., native continued his strong start to the year by racking up five takedowns, three of which came in the first period. Ramos has scored first in all six of his matches so far this season and is outscoring opponents 29-4 in the first period in those bouts.

Redshirt-senior 157-pounder Kendall Coleman (5-0) ended a three-match skid for Purdue by claiming a 9-3 decision win against Jake Silverstein. Coleman controlled the bout throughout, but came up just short in the race for bonus points. His three takedowns in the match move him into 17th on the all-time Purdue takedowns list with 238, passing former teammate Max Lyon.

The 174-pound weight class saw an impressive fight from junior Macartney Parkinson, who used a nice throw inside of the first 20 seconds of the first period to get a takedown before riding tough the rest of the period. He asserted control throughout the match to come away with a 6-2 decision over Michael Wilson.

Sophomore Ben Vanadia, in his first dual appearance, earned the final win and the only bonus points for Purdue on the day with a 12-2 major decision against Asa Terrell. He started the match by turning a single-leg hold by Terrell into a takedown of his own and finished off the major with an empathic single-leg of his own that nearly turned into a fall.

Purdue will have a chance to bounce back next weekend with the team hosting the Boilermaker Duals including Cleveland State, Chattanooga and Northern Illinois on Sunday starting at 9:00 a.m. ET.
