Our portal strikeouts are comical at this point. What are we offering, Lincoln Logs and a Sam's Club membership?? Freakin' joke to be this bad.

Maybe it's not what we're offering financially as much as what we're offering on the field. Shitty offense every damn year!! How many total starting snaps has an Iowa qb made in NFL over the past 20 years??? Maybe 35 total? How many starting snaps has an Iowa wide receiver made in the NFL over the past 20 years??? Zero! Easy to recruit against shit. However, I also feel our NIL funds are way lower than reported. At this point we have no choice but to do what Tennessee is doing next year, adding a 10% talent fee onto every football ticket next year. We could raise $500k-$700k every home game for NIL if we follow that path. We don't have the huge corporate donor's other teams have so we have to do something or continue to slide into complete irrelevance.

The fee should be added regardless. And then tack another 15% onto all of the concessions while you're at it.

This staff would not be getting an Eldorado or steak knives ….Baldwin would be giving them the third option.

Did your last post not gain enough traction? Idc if you want to shit post, but at least keep it in the same toilet and not all over the stall walls.
read where this QB got a 7 figure deal--why? does Missouri think he can win them a natty or get them to the playoffs?

I doubt it and so why give this guy that much money?

I for one am glad we are somewhat frugal with our money after the Cade debacle

Your stats are nowhere near accurate.

You call Iowa out for essentially not buying enough guys. Then you complain that there isn't enough money to buy guys.

Mix in a glass of water or two

Who knows how much money any program has out there? I would think most of the top dog schools will still have a certain amount of pull with name. How is it going for sports where Iowa is considered a top dog, like Wrestling, WBB, Field Hockey?

Lets discuss retention of players we want that could go elsewhere.

Still working on collecting cans to take to the redemption center so as to be able to contribute to the Swarm.

Iowa is still not sexy on offense. That has as much to do with it as anything so totally agree. Being blown in big games the last several years isn't help either. As far as money, if it came down to that I guarantee someone writes a check.

Hopefully it falls apart like usual but Nebraska making some serious portal additions this winter.
I have no idea how the "in v out" talent compares, but I count 26 guys leaving.

I also don't know how many "seniors" (eligibility expired) they lost, but that a huge turnover in the roster

Bethard has 1,065 total snaps and 13 starts in his career
Ruddock had 9 snaps, no starts
Stanzi, while on rosters for quite a while doesn't look like he ever got in a regular season game

I concur with the concept, elaborated above, that our chronically dogshit offense is a major deterrent to skill player acquisition in and of itself.
Get rid of Capt Fossil and we will see improvement. I give Lester credit for trying, but he is still under the Fossil's thumb.

No he’s not

Lots of teams get blown out in big games.
Lots of teams lose in OT in regular games.

Lots of teams lose in OT in big games.

And everything in between.

They all get recorded as one L

Iowa sits better than Mizzou, ISU and many others. Pribula's decision might be which option has more energy and vision (Like when Alt chose the Irish)

Iowa lost a portal receiver who left Northern Illinois to join the fellas at San Diego State. That leads me to believe it's not so much the money as it is the offense . . . and maybe the weather. Sure, money is a key factor, but it's not the only one. Iowa is in better shape with money than it is with the offense and the weather. Can't do anything about the weather, but the offense? Five years and counting of abject futility leave a mark. Iowa needs some dramatic and aggressive offensive changes to alter that narrative NOW, not in another five years. The bowl game should be used as a "show-me" model of the NEW Iowa passing game and balanced offense. And what better opponent for a show-me game than Missouri.
