Outplayed at every position group except running back against a middle school team. Plus, we still run 3 yard out patterns on 3rd and 9.

To my untrained ‘fan in the stands’ eye without having watched any film, my grades for yesterday (not a statement of ranking or potential):

Special teams:
-punt and coverage = advantage Iowa
-kick-off & coverage = advantage Iowa
-punt return = advantage Iowa
-KO return = advantage Iowa
-FG = advantage IA State
-Long Snapper = Advantage Iowa

Offense:
-center = advantage Iowa
-guards = push to slight adv IA State
-tackles = advantage Iowa
-TE = in this game push receiving, advantage Iowa on blocking
-RB = advantage Iowa
-WR = advantage Iowa State
-QB = advantage Iowa State

Defense:
- DT = normally big advantage Iowa , but yesterday push to advantage IA State
- DE = advantage Iowa
- LB = advantage Iowa
-Corner = harder to tell as such big difference at WR, but advantage IA State
-Safety = push to advantage IA State

ISU is not a middle school team, nor even close to whatever the college equivalent is. This might be their year to win 10 games.

They are finally in a position where the offensive side of the ball trumps their D, which is normally pretty solid. The LB position may be their undoing in a few games but there isn’t a team on their schedule they can’t beat.
