Over 10,000 tickets still for sale?

Yep, sure sounds like respect for an opinion...

Implying someone with a differing opinion is an alcoholic really "shoots" me down.

Anybody else want to bet this guy would, in fact, be much more fun if he were drinking?

Fail.

Sorry little buckaroo, but the lesson is over for today and class is dismissed. Don't worry, school will resume another day, another thread.

Meanwhile, some of us have a Hawkeye game to attend, and it is a long drive. If you want to continue to play in this thread, you will have to play with yourself.

Interesting thread here. We have a self professed expert chiding someone for being snarky and in the next paragraph is himself snarky. Interesting approach for someone who criticizes others approach. His final salvo is to tell the OP to play with himself which I think that poster would have some experience with.

Go Hawks, get the stadium filled.

I try to get so blindly drunk before I get into Kinnick that I can barely walk. Then I like to sneak in a little hooch to maintain that buzz. Sometimes I piss people off, sometimes I don't. Who cares. Its not like they are my neighbor or something.

One time this dude said I was spitting on him when I was yelling. I told him to shut up or I would beat him up. lol. True story.

So how many days did you spend in jail?

I agree with 83 Hawk. Life, including football games, is better sober. I don't mind people drinking if its moderate, but people staggering into me or being obnoxious is just annoying. I also think its sad that for many fans the game experience revolves around drinking. I will also add that there are some people who are just more pleasant to be around when they are tipsy

You run into this a lot? I'm asking because in the last 20 or so games I've attended as an adult I've never seen anyone throw up in the stands, and there have been just a couple occasions of a drunk loudmouth. Nothing uncommon of watching live sports anywhere.

A lot? I don't go to every home game and it happens at least once a season within a 5 seat radius.

I'm not anti-alcohol. That goes against my libertarian tendencies. I don't really give a shit what people drink or how much of it they drink.

My only beef with it is that I don't want to have to put up with it near where I'm sitting.

Drink what you want, smoke want you want, snort what you want. If you're sitting near me and yelling at the game just like everyone else, no problem.
If you're out of control, then security is going to be contacted and remove you from the stadium.

Well if you weren't there you missed a great crowd and a great game. Seems when the team struggles a little bit the "front runners" stay home and the real fans who just "love college football" come out without the "I'll cheer and yell when you show me something" attitude. Sometimes good fans can make the difference between a win and a loss, and judging by the noise level it was mostly a "real fan" kind of crowd.

We'll it turns out the pouty fans who are just "fed up" or have "Ferentz fatigue" missed out at being at another great football game....this team was gritty, poised, and fought through some major adversity.....looks like if you fall in this category you have two choices: 1) jump back on the bandwagon and admit your wrong and enjoy this exciting football team or 2) continue acting like a toddler who didn't get the toy they wanted and miss out on what could turn out to be a special season......don't forget that the players the ones who are ones impacted by your childish behavior and not those who you intend to impact with this ridiculous protest

I was there last night. No problem near us in our section. I did see security removing someone in the next section.
No problem in the crowd near us.

So now NOT attending a Football game is considered "childish behavior"? LOL!

I hope Mrs. Barta made you a nice warm bowl of tomato soup when you arrived home after the game. And for God's sake don't for a second let reality enter your air space.

Where do you sit that this happens in a 5 seat area? Not sure I have seen it in a 10 row area in all of the games I have gone to.

As it turns out you are choosing option #2......KF will be coaching until 2020 whether the vocal minority attend the games or not, how naive can you all be..this childish behavior only impacts the kids on the field who chose to play for the university that you are supposedly a fan of....so why not support it?!?!? I just do not understand that behavior..

What do you base your first part on? What part is "better" because you are sober?

Then, how do you contrast that with the second quoted sentence above, which seems to refute your first?

I think life is better/more enjoyable, living in reality and not drowning out reality. That is my experience. I also feel there are a few people who are so uptight that when they have a few drinks, they are relaxed and easier to be around. Not a contradiction, just an observation.
