someone dm'd me that kennedy was off the roster a week or two ago. i looked and noticed wrong names, weights, etc. so i figured something wonky was going on on the back end. (i mean, PK then wrestled SS). so i didn't say anything about it. seemed like a nothing burger. the explanation from the spokesperson maps.

My wife noticed it during the soldier salute. She and I assumed it was a coding error since she noticed it right after he wrestled.

As long as the roster is in the room practicing, that’s all they care about. TNT aren’t very technical, like me. They had terry’s call to Jax Forrest on Flo at midnight. He left his number on Jax’s answering machine, and Jax laughed and said I wonder if he knows his number comes up on his cell phone.😀. They are old school, not concerned with the team website.

Here’s the thing any good journalist would pick up a phone and call coach Brands before posting it or let PK lost it if true. He’s not the only one missing off the roster and a couple of weights are wrong as well. He’s the only 74lber listed on the upcoming duals for January. Does that mean Nelson is done or will not wrestle at all in January? What about 184 it only has Gabe listed at 184 for duals in January does that mean Ferrari will not wrestle in January?? Assuming something with out knowing facts is well you know how the saying works.

What was the reason for changing the roster page format? I think it used to be alphabetically sorted. It would be nice if it was sorted by weight. The way they have it currently, it looks like they threw the names in a hat and drew for order.

What are you coming to his defense for? There is nothing interesting/newsworthy about an incorrect online roster that is never correct to begin with.
Genius move by the marketing team. They prob got more traffic the last couple days than they since last March combined.

I'm presuming the Sports Information staff runs the Hawkeyesports website since they do the media guides as well. And if you look at all the errors in those this isn't a surprise. Just look at this years men's guide where it has the page for 2024 NCAA all-Americans and then just lists the results from 2023, I didn't want to have to relive Spencer getting sixth again LOL. And in the women's guide it list the Sioux Falls dual result, but didn't include it on any of the individual wrestler's results (I wouldn't have ever noticed that one had I not attended and noticed them missing). So unless someone goes back and fixes those at some point, career and season records will never be as accurate as they should be. The football and basketball guides are full of errors as well, once I even corrected one and they changed it the next year only for it to go back to the mistake the following year again. The quality control isn't very good so errors like these don't surprise me. I'm sure it's a thankless job in some sense, but a little pride in your work still goes a long way.

So instead of investigating to confirm any facts he rushed to post the news? This is exactly what is wrong with journalism today and why people have become so skeptical. There is no defense - he was wrong and acted in a manner that we have come to expect.
