Patrick

22 pts. yet seems like the forgotten man. Great effort and great job.
Don’t think that’s true. I think people just want to see a full year of him playing every game and hopefully being a 15 pt 4-5 rebounds guy and a steal a game. Not being harsh on him but his time is running out. He’s a veteran player we really need production from and not disappear when things get tough.

Agreed. Scoring is the one thing that people will look at and determine it was a solid game, and it was good to see his shots falling last night. The problem as I see it is when they don't, like his career has shown in the past, there is very little change in his effort at 6'9" to pound the glass and get some of those weakside boards for second chance points. It's a part of the game IOWA has lacked recently, and he could benefit offensively with that type of mindset throughout this year. The D has been suspect but that's been an IOWA thing for some time so I'm not sure there's a resolution to that issue.

He still dribbles way too much, everyone else keeps the ball moving.

At least he is keeping his dribble through the lane vs. last seasons stop and pivot around the horn move.

He's doing a great job of getting to the bucket and being aggressive without taking bad shots. 12/13 from the free throw line and 9/16 from the field is such a nice start for him. I'm really encouraged by his play this year. I think the addition of Evan Brauns might have something to do with that too.

He's not going to break anyone's ankles or create space for himself with his dribbling. But he's a good shooter, and he put on some muscle in the offseason it looks like. Brock will find him many times this year cutting to the hoop or for a kickout 3.

He's just another cog in the machine that is Iowa basketball. If as mentioned he is a 15 and 5 guy, I expect good things for this team.

Just think, if the professional pick-up ball league (aka the NBA) didn't exist, we would have Patrick teaming with Keegan and Kris Murray this year, and I would still have some modicum of excitement for Iowa basketball. :D
