Pemsl into the transfer portal

Nunge is our back up center now with no chance of starting. The 4’s on the team now are Connor, Patrick, and the twins. Not exactly what you’d like to see if you’ve struggled to compete on the boards and defend the rim.

almost have to think we are pursuing a grad transfer unless Fran believes in the twins to contribute right away or Ogundele to.
You think the twins are going to get more minutes at the for the nun g not happening

Garza will be gone too.
Tough to watch what happened to Pemsl physically. I’ve officiated him in games, talked to him on several occasions and rooted hard for him.

But very tough to watch him play this year. Was nearly walking back on defense and just didn’t have the athleticism to play any more. He did get much better late in the year when we really needed him, but he wouldn’t have played much at all with our roster close to full strength and unless he gets healthy and some of his athletic ability back Coach Jake would sit him at the end of the bench. Simply wasn’t good enough on defense nor willing to put the effort in either.

Good luck to Cordell. He has been a good teammate. Too bad injuries robbed him of what could have been a much more productive career. Luka and Nunge need to be back and ready to go. Opportunity for Big O to get more playing time, and for Iowa to play a lot of small ball, which generally worked very well this year.

Believe me, there's really NO ONE here taking this guy seriously, at least no one with a functioning brain who actually follows Iowa basketball.....
Yep and more. Your response just verified my thoughts.
So has your athletic ability peaked yet?

But honestly though, where do we think Pemsl (sp?) will transfer to? I could see him landing at Drake. They have quality grad school programs and he’d be all conference quality in that league. He’ll always be a Hawkeye. Even if I can’t spell his name to save my life.

He played 8 minutes a game and he would be all valley? What is wrong with you. No he would not. Probably wouldn’t start at Drake.

Hopefully, he knows that Garza is coming back and that next year he would get about 8 minutes a game. Otherwise, if Garza is not coming back he is forfeiting about 15-20 minutes of playing time - which we would now miss.

Gonna have to disagree with you there numbnuts. But youre a superstar with all your mess board likes.. you obviously dont know shit about toughness on the court. It doesnt come from 170lb 3 point shooters.
I don't care what your dumbf*ck brain thinks. You don't know shit. And your initial response didn't even include Garza. It's ok, you're just a troll bitch and everyone knows it

Not disagreeing. I assumed mental toughness was what was being discussed here based on Printthis’ comments

Honestly, he's really not anymore mentally tough than other guys on the team. I'm not saying he's mentally weak, but rather average for a basketball player. Let's just say he doesn't standout to me.

Has Iowa ever had a good player that has come from Dubuque?

Kevin Kunnert, Dubuque Native and Wahlert graduate (courtesy of Wikipedia...)

Kunnert attended the University of Iowa, where he scored 1,145 career points, and was the Hawkeyes' all-time leading rebounder at the time of his graduation. Kunnert led the Big Ten in rebounding and field goal percentage his senior year, averaging 19.2 points and 13.9 rebounds on 54.5% shooting. He averaged 18.2 points and 14.7 rebounds as a junior in 1971-1972. For his career he averaged 15.9 points and 12.7 rebounds for the Hawkeyes under Coach Dick Schultz, after being recruited to Iowa by Ralph Miller.

Kunnert was a Two-time team Most Valuable Player for the Hawkeyes, in 1972 and 1973
Kunnert was inducted into the Dubuque Wahlert Athletic Hall of Fame in 2018
Kunnert was selected in the Top University of Iowa All-Time Players

He played 9-10 years in the NBA besides.

There is physical toughness, mental toughness and physical strength.
They are great attributes to have in an athlete.

This is along with athletic ability , physical size and heart.

Calm down big fella. Consecutive years of frustrating Iowa bball getting to you?

So not in my lifetime.

I didn’t think Iowa’s had a good player from that area that I could remember.

Not very good b-ball being played in that town.
Actually... Dubuque consistently has good basketball teams. Wahlert won several titles with Pemsl. Senior has played at a high level for a number of years and made the 4A championship a year or two ago

Did someone really say he’d be all conference at Drake? Lol no. He’d start maybe but definitely not a star.
