Penn State, Michigan State, Ohio State have all embarrassed the B1G greatly

Next time we make fun of the SEC and their "standards," consider this:

Ohio State:
* Wrestlers were sexually assaulted by a school doctor.
* An assistant football coach repeatedly beat up his wife.

Michigan State
* Many sexual assaults within the football program. Dantonio still has his job.
* Many sexual assaults within the basketball program. Izzo still has his job.
* A Michigan State doctor (Larry Nassar) sexually abused many female athletes.

Penn State
* Jerry Sandusky's years of abusing children.
* Joe Paterno and the PSU AD knew what was going on and did nothing.

I think MSU is the biggest black eye for the Big 10, especially Dantonia. He's been a scum bag for most of his MSU coaching career. Eventually you would think MSU would get sick of him.

Don’t forget like a dozen Minnesota FB and BB players getting in trouble for sexual assault among other things.

Ok.
We have to get rid of these 3 stat!
JR wants us to get rid of the 4 additions (which include the already mentioned PSU).
Now we're down to an 8 team league. Less competition to win the conference. Can't see a downside. I say we do it. We can call ourselves The Big 8.

edited after my math screw up

I was going to start a tread on this subject.
Talk about UM and we should be but where was the up roar with Dantanio and Izzo and Nassar at MSU. You heard very little and now it is swept under the rug.
Where talking decades of abuse with Nassar and the football and basketball have had major instances.
I don't get it.

The Mich State AD steps down yet the coaches remain.

At Ohio State, why isn't the AD stepping down? If UM knew, Gene Smith knew.

how do Dantonio and Izzo still have their jobs?
Mostly it's because of MSU's little brother complex. They've had to live in Michigan's shadow for decades. Now that they've seen a little success, they are willing to put up with what they perceive as the inevitable side effects.

Easy now. If we're gonna throw a critical eye on everyone else, remember, we're only some level of a Pierre Pierce or athletic department coaching (softball) scenario away from joining the lot. I know Bruce Pearl was a Hawk, and he's one of the slimier coaches in the NCAA (likely not at Iowa of course). I tend to think twice before condemning people no greater/lesser than us. You know "win, graduate, do it right" will be what our noses are rubbed in the second it would happen. I prefer my $h!t to yours, but I know it still stinks. That's me. You choose for you. Not trying to be Debbie Downer or play role of mom, but he who laughs last laughs best. I hope for the best.

Exactly.

Posters here need to be careful about throwing stones if they are not prepared to take the heat the next time Iowa f's up.

And judging how this board tends to reacting childishly towards every trolling fan base that happens to come over here...I'd say this board's thin skin as a whole won't take it very well - as many OSU posters that trolled through the years are suffering through as I type.

I don't have an opinion about Izzo because I don't follow basketball. As far as Dantonio:

Well that’s pretty bad honestly. Where does the MSU investigations stand today? There’s a definite cultural problem there from not just the school, TitleIX Office and campus police but even the city attorneys office. It reeks of systemic coverup, obstruction and compartmentalization that allowed administrators and coaches to plead ignorance or lack of knowledge to minimize the assault reports and protect their athletes from facing prosecution.

This is a hell of a lot worse than tOSU is facing and nearly as bad if not worse than what happened at PSU.

Eff that program, it deserves to be burnt to the ground.

The fact that MSU, U of Miami, Baylor and Louisville still have athletic departments is mind-boggling to me. Add that to Penn St football getting a slap on the wrist and N. Carolina basketball not even getting penalized, and you just have to accept that the NCAA has no interest in holding anybody accountable for anything.

The MSU situation...mind boggling. I have almost no facts and have no foot to stand on for judgment of them without some. However, it is absolutely amazing this is as quiet as it is. And has been. It appears to be athletic department-wide loss of institutional control even more than PSU/Paterno. (Side note ripe for ripping...the pocket conspiracy theorist side of me wondered if he "allowed himself to die" to not have to face this. Sad, I know.) I kept thinking after the NCAAs the hammer would fall...nothing. It's as if it never happened even with the strong ESPY presentation since. Nothing. No media use of it at all it seems. Unbelievable. And, way, way more egregious (again, in a lack of factual evidence appearance) than Meyer as far as we know to date in my opinion.
