From reporting, it sounds like the senior pilot allowed the pilot being trained to achieve altitude well above the corridor for the choppers, and should have taken action immediately to correct that situation, but for some reason didn't do that.

I don’t want to make it political. This a journalism 101. In a press room, people have a job to dive deeper. They also have a job to be respectful (imo) when it is a simple statement and maybe an effort to uplift families and a society are most important. This guy gave that trust away and the press room sounded like something from movies that predate me. I know he doesn’t give a shit about their (press) trust, but I do hope a large population of our right leaning country just went ‘wait, oh, maybe this is what they were talking about’.

Here is my opine: The guy couldn’t read the script. It was too boring. It pained him. Death of people didn’t really help him enough. So it was time to be a star. Go off script and be a star, baby!!! Why not just make stuff up on the fly? I felt like he came across like a 13 year old explaining the crash after seeing it on tv once (as an official government statement, btw). But what I think doesn’t matter. I’m pretty sure 100% of his voting supporters thought that sounded like a leader.

I really do not understand all the finger pointing on this. If you have listened to the audio from atc and the helicopter it is clear this was a massive mistake by the crew of the Blackhawk. Isn’t it possible that this was just a tragic accident? No left or right at fault? If anything, the military needs to be questioned on why they were doing a trading run with night goggles in the middle of the landing zone at one of the busiest airports.

Yes, I get that. I was just philosophizing and posted. I am not asking how or why people make a big deal of a plane crash. I just find that I think differently than most. Wondering if anyone else held my views. I don't know if it is how my brain works or may be its my profession in the medical field. You sort of realize people get crappy diagnoses, die at a young age, have totally unfair stuff happen to them.

I've seen a 5 year old catch a stray bullet from a drive by. Had a women brought in dead because she was too cold to declare dead in the field. Got stuck in her house during a fire and tried to hide under the coffee table as the place collapsed around her. Seen a young women strangled and shot by her boyfriend. I have a warped perception when it comes to "tragedy". Perhaps I've seen too much. It also makes me think each life is important because you don't know how long it will exist.

Regardless if he were (not likely) correct....there is a time and place. Families are grieving. If you want to be a leader, STFU and leave politics for later. Trump is a POS
