Perkins.

No coach in the country would have played Conner over 10 minutes a game with our roster from last year. I still stand a lot of our attrition problems stem from that core decision made week 1 last year to start Conner. It limited that teams ceiling tremendously. Advanced metrics show he was poorest on the floor by a laaarge margin.

Conner is an upper classmen and is his son, Fran has a major bias in both regards. The dump to Garza for assists won’t be there anymore. He puts so much stress on the offense as his defender runs free. What position you advocating for him to play?

PG can’t drive
SG can’t shoot
SF Pmac/Kris/Sandfort too many bodies
PF Undersized and Keegan needs to play 30 plus
C obv not

I like a lot of what Connor brings, or brought that Iowa was missing in the starters of years past.... He's gritty and brings toughness that Iowa didn't always have on the court.

That being said.... Toussaint, Perkins, have shown that toughness and Keegan is more the let my work do the talking but those guys can provide that toughness AND also be more scoring threats.

A part of me kind of hopes that Connor heals from his surgeries and realizes that having a fully healthy baseball season may be more important, and deferring to the younger guys to take the helm of Iowa Basketball's future.

Reminds me of a little shorter Ron Artest, physically.
Can't wait to see he and Joe T. get lots of run.
Quite frankly, I'm looking forward to next season if this roster stays in tact....
The Eurostep basket he had this year was an eye-opener for me. He has some crazy good skills for a freshman!

Connor‘s shooting took a big step backwards this year; FT, 3 pointers and his turn around jumper. Perhaps that was due to injuries? Players evolve and grow, I’m not overly hopeful but if he gets back to where he was a year ago that’s a big improvement.
I would love to think he has more game than he has shown, but it's tough to score when you are a bad shooter and can't dunk.

Not sure id even call it a euro step but I remember the play.

I don't recall to many Hawks since Ricky Davis that could have made that move.

Connor was a great start for this past years squad as he really is one of the best post entry passers in the nation, with a guy like Garza in the line up and shooters all around it really is a no brainer for him to start with a group like that.

I don't think next years team will need that years skill set quite as much but rather next years team is going to have to get out and RUN!
Pace is everything to next year's squad. Games will need to be won in transition.

I'm excited to see what Perkins will bring to the table. We saw flashes last year.

JT, JBo, Ulis, and Perkins will be the guard rotation. Am I missing anyone?

Well, there is talk of Kris M playing some time at the 2. Not sure I see that but it comes from Kenyon who is a little more familiar with the players, particularly the Murrays so that is a realistic scenario. I'm think Kris plays for both Patrick and Keagan and approximately similar overall minutes.

I'm thinking the key to Tony's PT is an improved shot and ball handling. Monster athlete and everyone says he's another good defender-certainly worked on the defensive end in his limited minutes last year. Looks like a mature and serious kid. Hate to admit it, cuz C Mac was exactly what we needed when he became a starter, but I am much more excited about seeing Tony than Connor, and I do not feel I am in the minority.
