Play Ogundele More

Please and thank you. This team badly needs a big guy to fill the lane and get some rebounds. I view josh as the guy I usually can’t stand on other teams, just a big guy that uses his size to move people around and annoys opposing teams. However fran doesn’t play him. I just don’t get it.
Has his ankle healed yet? It looked pretty bad when it happened, and haven't heard anything lately....

He played last game, although sparingly as usual, so I assume he’s good to go

Just go and kick ass and take names. Then go sit down and rest.

Hes lost on defense in any scenario other than one on one post defense.

Thats a problem because most teams screen with their big thus putting him in a position where he has to help and or switch.

I really wish he was better because he is a huge upgrade in rebounding and rim protection.

I think I’d rather have that situation and make either the guard or the big still have to make somewhat of a play to score opposed to give up 20+ offensive rebounds which usually result in close shots for second chance points.

Josh O isn’t there yet. I’m not sure if he will ever will be. It’s one thing to lose some weight, it’s another to get into game shape. He needs to make a concerted effort to work on his cardio during the offseason…or not…. The ball is in his court.

He does need to work on his cardio big time and show he actually wants to be there and play a little more.
I do still believe he should play a bit more though. Watching last nights game he looks like he’s pressing big time because he doesn’t get much PT. I know he didn’t have that great of a showing but he also didn’t allow his defender to score at all on him. Sure he could have done a bit better a couple of times on help defense but his man to man coverage was good.
he didn’t have any rebounds but if you actually watched he at least boxes out. On one of the Indiana free throws he had his guy boxed out about 10 feet from the hoop didn’t get the rebound the the guy he boxed out wasn’t even close to getting it.

I'm not sure how much he can play, he's really out of shape.
Kind of looked that way. When it comes to the best post players, the roster kind of is what it is. Fran's best bet is probably to do what he's been doing, which is use Rebraca and the two Murrays as much as he can. Double and sink down on the post when they can, play zone where they can and use Mulvey and Ogundele in spot minutes when fouls dictate. Folks clamoring for more Mulvey or Big O, it's hard to justify it based on the IU game. It's a chicken/egg thing, most players perform better when given consistent minutes. But it's hard to give consistent minutes when in limited minutes they aren't doing much. I would guess at some point in the next year or 2, Mulvey or Ogundele will take steps forward and be competitive big men.

Per Scott Skiles - how can Eddie get more rebounds - Jump! Same thing here. And please nobody start on we need a rim protector.

I would start Joe T, PMac, KeM, KrM, JBo.

I really like Ulis and Perkins. Rebraca and Conner could come off the bench. That's a nine player rotation.

It's almost a guaranteed foul to put Josh in space hedging that high ball screen. Also puts him a mile from the hoop. TJD is really good, so not surprised Josh got stuffed. He did look extremely uncomfortable in the post, but knowing TJD is lurking probably played a part.

If he can come in and be an active big body who blocks out, I would be good with that. Mulvey seems more capable of being a shot blocking threat, but he seems to be out of synch with his position on the floor. TBD, but 3 guys have 15 fouls, so stop the easy baskets and be aggressive on the boards.

There is a reason some players come off the bench. Starting is an ego thing for some. Anyone old enough to remember John Havlicek with the Celtics. He may have been their best player but he was used as their 6th man. Good for match-up problems and to give another scoring option at different points in the game. Let's not get worked up about who starts - but who plays the most minutes and who finishes the game. That is what matters.

Josh has a gut and looks out of shape. He is a "body" right now and maybe a great teammate....but for now that is where it ends.

Can we possible defend the high ball screen worse? It’s the go to for most teams that play us. Jo has been solid.

He really looked lost and overmatched out there last night. And zero rebounds in 7 minutes is very disappointing.
I don’t get the lost part. He played well defensively and made them earn there shots. I think we were a plus when he was in there. 0 rebounds is disappointing but it’s a small sample size and he has rebounded well this year.

I'm pretty much with you on this. He didn't gather rebounds but I thought we were better defensively and on the boards when he was in. It felt like we were very soft at times inside when Rebraca was in. Josh won't get moved out of the way around the basket like every other Hawk not named Murray seems to.

he has zero clue what to do with the ball when he needs to make a post move.
