Playing 11 guys is stupid

I have more than 60,000 in 2k8. But, for the life of me I will never understand why it takes the game until 2018 in every friggin simulation to fire Lickliter.
Why won't they remake this game. Ridiculous.

I've done career mode so many times its embarrassing. I think the most I've ever seen Lick make the dance is like 3 times in 20 years. Yet, everytime it takes until 2023 for the Iowa job to open up!

JBo isn't quick enough to defend quick guards and the bigs refuse to help. Interior defense is non-existent.

Well you nailed if you mean Pemsl + Cook provide zero help. I thought Baer at 4 helped a lot more and Kriener got his hands on some of the dribble drive penetration. The best effort lineup was Baer, Wagner, Bohannon, Ellingson, Kriener.

I agree with you. Cook and Pemsl hardly give effort on the defensive end along with Jok. If someone gets past Jok he just tries to poke the ball out and gives up. Cook and Pemsl are struggling with help defense and the baseline.

Personally I would play the starters and then play Baer Wagner Ellingson and
So who of the 11 don't you play? I'll hang up and listen.
Williams and Jones can sit. Just glad Uhl was out otherwise Fran might have tried playing 12 guys. Villanova and Kansas each played 7 guys on Saturday and won competitive conference games. You can't tell me our 8th through 11th guys are so much more talented than theirs that ours must play. It's about playing your best guys and developing cohesion and comfort on the court with your teammates. Fran's a good coach, but the very best, the Bill Selfs and Jay Wrights of the world understand you play your best guys more minutes.

I would play the following 8;
Cook, Pemsyl, Moss, Baer, Jbo, Wagner, Kriener, and Jok. All 80 minutes at the 1 and 2 positions would go to Jbo, Jok, and Moss.

You can't compare Iowa to Villanova and Kansas. The Hawks aren't loaded with 4 and 5 star players. They are very young. So, yes I would think most of the players are on an even playing field besides the exception of Jok. It all just depends on the night and who's hitting shots. Tonight, no one was off the start. That's probably why he went deep into the bench to get something going. Not sure why dale jones played though over Uhl. He had some good boards but that was about it. There are going to be ups and downs. They shot terrible and were still in a game. That says something to me about a young team against a good Maryland team.

Not true Unc and Florida State play 10-11 guys every game.

Just saying. Looked at the box scores for every ranked team that won last weekend. Not a single one played more than nine guys. For crying out loud play your best guys and develop a rotation and continuity in playing together. Preseason games against bottom feeders is when you play everyone.

Rotation doesn't matter with this group.

They're so inconsistent and one dimensional.

Almost no one is good on both sides of the ball.

No their 1-7 guys are just that much better than ours.

Williams and uhl need less time. Kreisler no more than 8-10 minutes, his foot speed is pretty slow and could have easily fouled out tonight. Moss needs more court time, he never plays in last ten minutes of game. Bottom line, Fran's rotations provide little continuity and when Jok is in the game we become extremely one dimensional waiting for him to shoot

Cook and Pemsl just need to be separated. They need a more defensive big with them to help. Kreiner, Wagner and Baer need to go with one of them always. I think the starters need to be Jbo, Moss, Jok, Baer and either Cook or Pemsl. Kreiner, Wagner and Ellingson should get the other 3 spots.

That's when they are winning big. North Carolina is 5-1 in conference games. Their has only been three games where 3 bench players played 10 minutes or more with two games only 2 players got 10 or more minutes. 15 players did get minutes with 5 bench players getting 10 minutes or more in the 107-56 blow out of North Carolina State but that should be expected. Some competitive players are in condition to play all 40 minutes if it necessitates and I don't think the players are in a condition to do that..

Williams and Ellingson should be given some polish and a cloth, and make the pine shine..... Got to play Jones. At least a couple minutes a game. He maybe able to show us something, but it will take some PT to get there

I reviewed the top 25 teams in the countries fan base, and none of their fans complain as much as you guys. Evidently we have more experts in our fanbase than other teams.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Op didn't say any thing on minutes. Unc plays 10-11 guys in the first half of 98% of all there games, even if they are winning or losing.

How many points did they get with Cordell out chasing point guards 20 feet from basket-- pick and roll over and over

Our bigs tend to over hedge on those high ball screens. Woody did it early in his career too and learned to get back to clog the middle. Hopefully our bigs can get there, otherwise it will be several more years of watching the other team shoot layups. The first two minutes of the second half last night were two layups and a dunk by MD and then we were looking at 15 point deficit. Didn't help that Bohanon had trouble getting over or through the screens either

If it were up to people on this board, Ahmad Wagner wouldn't have logged any minutes last night, and we would have have been without our best performer. I say, play however many guys you want to play in the first half, see who's hot, then make the adjustments and play 8 or 9 in the second half

Would that line-up win the MAAC or Horizon League Championship??? I don't think so. I think they are decent players, but they are not big 10 caliber athletes and I don't think they will ever be in the top half of Big 10.
