This is an idiotic take. Ukraine wasn't prepared to fight the war they are fighting now in 2012. They are now because the Obama Administration made a point in training Ukrainian forces since. With your logic, Trump is responsible for covid because it was on his watch. Is that fair?
But do you know the history? Ukraine wasn't prepared due to corruption. Obama trained the national guard units, AKA neo Nazi's.

Ukraine wasn't really prepared at the start of this war. Russia was that bad and the Soviets were never good at shock and awe. They grind and pound well.
The north was a terrible military at the onset of the Civil War. At the end, they were the best in the world. War does that.
During the Donbas war, the so-called separatists were terrible at fighting. Akin to Boris and Natasha fighting Moose and Squirrel. Wagner would bail out the separatists and clock the Ukraine Army until they ran into US trained and supplied AZOV.

Putin doesn't set up collectives or state-run businesses. In reality, in US you don't even own your own home. The state can take it from you. In Ukraine, it happens a lot and ends up in the hands of oligarchs.
In both Ukraine and Russia there is less regulation than here, so the wealth doesn't come from the state.

Russia is entirely reliant on natural resources: Oil, coal, potash, iron, and nat gas. The next biggest sector is agricultural goods. The leases and rights are determined entirely by Putin. There is no recourse. There is no Takings Clause.
The United States does have allodial title, but that’s true almost everywhere. You can own land in fee simple and the government can’t deprive you of your property without compensation. You can sue the government in this country and win.
Russia isn’t communist, but it has all of the features of communism we detest.
