PMac takes a leave of absence

Good for him for recognizing the problem and taking it head on. I dare say almost everyone deals with severe anxiety at least part of their life. Godspeed to him.

The hits keep coming for this basketball team, but life is like that. Hope they can come together. The best teams are formed under duress. Look no further than Ronnie Lester’s senior year when he was injured. Everyone else stepped up and in the end they became a better team despite the turmoil.

I'm glad this isn't related to Pmac's previous bout with cancer. That said, I know all too well the crushing effects that anxiety (and insomnia) can have on a person. It's absolutely crippling and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Don't worry about basketball and get well, Patrick!

A lot of us old guys were brought up with that whole tough guy, never cry, bury your feelings, don't be a pussy mentality. It was prevalent in life in general...but especially in sports.

In Doodle's humble opinion it's better now that people (especially high profile individuals) feel more free to say, "I'm not right and I need help."

Much better.

Mental health is so important & stigmatized. It's not easy being a D1 player let alone being son of the coach. Hopefully he takes all the time he needs & gets the appropriate treatment to come out of this better & stronger & with the tools needed to successfully go forward. Wishing him only the best
