Poll: People like single payer, until they hear more details....

We have a government run system by default because we have the uninsured ending up in public hospitals like UIHC and the costs are absorbed into the system one way or another.

If you want a real private type system, you need to be able to exclude the uninsured. Deny treatment.

No, I don't work in a nursing home.

Payer source is always a consideration.

Ok, a slight point of contention. The allocation of an organ is not related to payer source. You can certainly be uninsured and indigent and be allocated an organ based on need. However, some transplant centers make a decision based on insurance. Most transplant recipients are covered by one form of governmental assistance or another.

Yes, I realize that you can't actually buy organs, but the transplant doctors and the nursing team need to get paid.

In most cases, organ allocation is needs blind. A hospital puts a patient on the list, the assessment is based on factors other than financial reasons.

No, I was right. I can't buy a catastrophic health insurance plan to avoid the individual mandate. Can you?

LOL...does it hurt your back to move so many goalposts?

Your earlier post:

That's how people were able to buy catastrophic health insurance policies rather than a policy that covers every little thing, and save a ton of money in the process. Can't do that, now.

You were wrong. People CAN "do that now". They're idiots if they do it, of course. Might explain why you're so interested.

I can't do that now. I used to be able to do that, but I can't now.

What part of that don't you understand?

And why are they idiots? My car insurance doesn't cover oil changes and tires. Only catastrophic stuff. That's what "insurance" is for (big things) not for every sniffle or boo-boo you'd like to waste your doctor's time with.

Wow...let's see if we can make this clear. You didn't say anything about YOU in the post to which I responded. I even copied and pasted the post to refresh your memory. Here it is again:

So people CAN do that now. They shouldn't since it's an idiotic thing to buy. You were wrong.

Corporations are people too. No poor person ever gave anybody a job..................corporations on the other hand have given me several.
So they should be rewarded with free money and tax breaks that will not help "we the people'" as we buy their products and do their work? If corporations are such a great idea, why do they insist on sucking the lifeblood from those who need them so?
Why aren't you an entrepeneur and make your own money your way? Why do you rely on the tax bloated tit of a corporation to make your ends meet?

Again, you're being ridiculous. You should really take a deep breath and maybe take a walk. You seem a bit nitpicky to the point of having an emotional problem.

LOL @ Dems

Are you admitting Obamacare is a failure?

I like how Dems think the US will support their new healthcare plan when the last one is failing.
