I support Israel. I do NOT support the Netanyahu-led government. Those are not one and the same.
Israel has had hardliners in charge, and it's had liberals and moderates in charge. The Palestinians wouldn't settle with anyone.
The Palestinians refusal of any overtures, and the election and rule of Hamas, has basically crippled a once-significant peace/two-state movement in Israel. The dominance of right-leaning parties is a development of the last few decades. Because any movement toward peace by Israel's more moderate prime ministers was met by nothing but more dead Jews.
October 7 has utterly eliminated any chance of even Israel's most liberal political factions to accept a two state solution. Which exactly fits Hamas' and Palestinian goals...they don't want a two state solution either. Palestinian activists and charities and cheerleaders in congress don't want a two state solution.
People rip Israel for not accepting a two state solution that Hamas and Palestinians and Palestinian cheerleaders expressly reject.
Literally let Palestinians and Palestinian allies speak for themselves and believe what they say. Believe them when they don't condemn Hamas, don't condemn terror, and don't accept a two state solution.
Stop criticizing Israel for not coming to a peaceful resolution with some non-existent mythical "The Palestinians" who don't exist, and don't even pretend to exist. This mythical "The Palestinians" who merely want to live in peace and self determination and independence in their own homeland is a totally fictional creation of wishful thinkers, anti-Semites, and naive liberals.
There is no one, and has been no one, on the other side of the table.
