I completely understand wanting to be able to provide for their families and pay their bills like responsible Americans. But it seems like these people that are wanting to not listen to the medical guidance and rush back back to work are the same people who would be financially devastated for years if they got COVID-19 and had to pay the hospital bills for it.

I went with "open it up" and here's why...

No matter how much we try to make stay at home work, there's going to be people and states that don't abide. Effectively, these idiots are undoing whatever good is being accomplished. At this pace, we'll be in lockdown forever because 1) these stupid MFr's won't adhere to the WFH/SAH policies and 2) we can't seem to get our production efforts going well enough to get ahead of the rush anyway.

It's a losing battle no matter when we fight it. People are going to die unnecessarily because we don't have the resolve as a nation to follow these rules and we completely blew the preparedness aspect. So, we might as well accept the deaths that are inevitable and concentrate on getting the economy turned around before that is totally fvcked as well.

It's like a tragic pregnancy/delivery gone bad. If you know that the mother can't be saved no matter what you do, then you focus on saving the baby.

I don't want them to open it back up until my employer commits to keeping us working remote to do our part for the time being. I think they'll need about 3 more weeks of data seeing this isn't adversely impacting productivity (if anything, helping productivity as people are working more of the needed voluntary OT including decent weekend chunks).

I’m in agreement. I’m guessing when we do go back the office it will be part time.

I’m fine opening up in waves. But even as things open up, I would make masks and social distancing a requirement. I also agree that there has to be a pattern of improvement within the area you live (my county continues to see an increase) and hospitals cannot be maxed out.

Can’t you people at least wait a few more weeks until we’re firmly on the backside of the curve? I mean JFC.

Yes, there's no cost to just sitting at home. This feels fine.gif.

Did you hear that oil prices were negative earlier this week? That means they were paying people to take oil off their hands.

The economic crisis is going to dwarf the health crisis if we're not careful. And I'm afraid we already passed the tipping point on that.

We all know that when you talk about costs you mean dollars, not people.

On a related note, can you tell people what company you’re with so people know to never place a loved one in one of your facilities?

I predict companies that rush people back are going to get sued for unsafe working conditions. Unless they are implementing social distancing in the workplace and providing PPE as appropriate, they should not ask people to come back to the office.

I’m guessing most companies will continue to have as many people as possible work from home for the foreseeable future.

"Dollars" equals lives, too. People DIE from bad economic conditions. We are literally causing a catastrophe that's worse than the virus.

Most are.

That is my guess as well and since it is the states in many cases that are throwing up these “open for business” signs I expect they will see lawsuits as well.

There is national guidance put out via the Trump administration that has been stamped by medical experts and everyone in the nation knows it. Those states that jump phases and shirk the guidelines are also likely opening themselves up to litigation.

I hope all the vulture lawyers get the C-19 and freaking die. Painfully. After 30 days in the vent unit. Fvck them all.

Those lawyers are just representing people who feel have been knowingly put in harms way.

Hitler blamed Germany’s economic woes partially on the Jews and asked that they be locked up as well...just saying.
A much better point than it has any right to be in America.

Sadly, we have plenty of people willing to save money by pushing for conditions where more old people will die.

Small business owner commits suicide because everything he built during his whole life is suddenly gone.

That's just as bad as a COVID death, wouldn't you say?
Why is this a concern now? Suicide has been a tremendous issue for some time. Not to mention the effects of poverty. Now it's a big issue for some because it's affecting their way of life. Give me a break.

It's going to get a lot worse, dumb ass.

I don’t think they want them to die, they certainly don’t care if they do but I don’t think they are rooting for it. What they want is to not be held or feel responsible for their deaths and suggesting that they be “locked down” is their way of dismissing what responsibility we all have to one another.
