#5 pre season, out in the round of 32.....Yup. It was a Sweet 16 or bust type season.

I’m one of the few that voted no. They went beginning-to-end ranked in the Top 5 and when everyone was healthy we were really tough to beat. Oregon was a tough matchup given our guards were a bit hobbled and not 100%. I know the game got away from us and maybe I’m stubborn but I would love to play the game again against Oregon tomorrow. Today they were hot from 3 and we weren’t, it easily could have went the other way.
In general I’m one of the few that kind of hates how a whole team and whole season is judged a success or failure based on one game, ignoring the 30 other games we had to judge whether it was a good team or not. Upsets happen so often in basketball and a one-and-done format makes it hard to judge. There’s a reason the NBA does best of 7 series.
Totally agree on that point. You would have thought eventually we would just get lucky and be the team that upsets a team that’s legitimately better than us. As you point out, most other teams eventually do it. I think a lot of fans were hoping to make up for 20 years of disappointment all at once with this team and it didn’t happen.but for the last 20/30 years the same old same old? There has been something like 89 teams around the country that have made the sweet 16 and shockingly Iowa hasn’t done squat ... there’s absolutely no excuse for this failure of a season... all the hype everything.. down the toilet. I do agree with the best of 7 though
The question I have is “if they were hurt than why in gods name didn’t we start and play healthy guys?”It's disappointing that Connor has been playing hurt, that CJ has been playing hurt and that Jack isn't playing at all.
Throw in Joe's ankle and yes it has been disappointing.
That’s crazy talk. Why start Murray, Perkins, and Tousiant when Fran can March out guys that are hurt and can’t defend. Be the coach Fran and stop worrying about feelings. The question I have is “if they were hurt than why in gods name didn’t we start and play healthy guys?”
That’s why we need tougher dudes. It's disappointing that Connor has been playing hurt, that CJ has been playing hurt and that Jack isn't playing at all.
