Positives from Todays game?

Positives......for those of you that were upset that Iowa wasn't on TV enough count your blessings, they play on Monday night 6PM on ESPNU against Stetson. Save your 18 bucks and watch them on TV if you must. Bohannan, Pemsl, Jok, Baer, Wagner, Moss, & when Cook gets back are worth watching....the rest of the roster is a complete waste of time. Oh well, maybe by McCaffery's tenth year they may again finish with a respectable record in the Big Ten....McCaffery was nicknamed "White Magic" for what reason again....LOL.
Bryce Cartwright is the only true point guard that this coaching staff has recruited in 7 years at Iowa....think about that, and how many true centers have seen the floor under this staff...heck Pemsl with a bad leg is more skilled around the basket as a freshmen then Woodbury ever dreamed he was.....OK, it's a long season so I'm leaving before I say more then I have already but playing defense is all about effort and so far this season I'm seen no effort from this team when they don't have the rock....maybe Fran's worst overall team since he's been here.....

One positive was Iowa held Neb-Omaha to under 100 points.

Ellingson should not be playing 19 minutes. He is too much of a defensive liability. He's a 3-5 minutes a game player.

The defensive problems are on Fran. Kentucky plays freshmen every year and they still defend. They just happen to be incredible athletes and don't have to try as hard as our guys. Fran needs to get guys quick enough to defend and if he's going to have slow wings, then he needs a shot blocker to protect the rim. Foremost, he's got to make defending man-to-man and rebounding a focus. If Kreiner can rebound and protect the post, he ought to be playing more than wagner and Uhl.

Bohannon and Pemsl settling into roles as starters and scoring options #2 and #3.

Ellingson & Williams continuing to play themselves into lower minute shares on both ends of floor.

We played a lot of zone as well, which didn't help because they shot well and consistently sliced to the hoop. But we know its an option.

Not sure Ellingson is playing himself into lower minutes, seems that Fran is going to play him even more
