This may be nothing. Can't tell the context of them, but they both have game day dates on them. Maybe someone with a twitterX account can dig into this to see if there's any smoke in the comment sections.

Someone also said on the other site that an AJ post was deleted quickly regarding putting a name in the portal. Just a word of caution that this is all very vague and it could be entirely another issue all together. However, I lack the capability to dig deeper on it.

The pass the ball one was early in the 4th when Stuelke got called for the offensive foul on a weak “charge” .. looked like Stuelke could’ve hit Guyton at the top of the circle for 3..

Not sure if that’s what it was, but that’s when the time lined up. IF that’s what it is or any other player that’s not his daughter, then it’s shitty to criticize another student athlete on the team like that as a players parent.

It also may not be that 🤷🏻‍♂️

I like Guyton and think she could very well develop into a fine player but I feel as though she’s regressed some in the last several weeks.

Maybe it’s her dad chirping in her ear.

I wouldn’t be surprised at all if she transfers, and i’m certain Jan will be keeping a close eye on PGs in the portal this offseason.

My read of that seems to be that her dad is implying that she isn’t getting the ball due to racial issues.

Which would be completely asinine.

To me, JJ is reverting back to LB coaching style. Starters get 32-36 minutes and subs get 4-8. Ride the experience. Hard to play well when you aren't getting a lot of time on the court.
One of the writers commented on X the other day how it felt like Syd had only been here for 2 years. That's because Lisa rode her top 6 for 4 years.

Yeah Jan has done a great Job, really did a great job of giving the team plenty of reps early and tightened things up as it became obvious where we had to lean to close games out.

We went from 2-6 playing about 9/10 girls consistently to (7-2) 9-8 tightening things down. And I believe you could argue. Our back half schedule was even tougher than our front.

They've definitely leaned on the vets a lot more during the second half of conference play as Syd and Olsen have started to play much better. Guyton still gets the most minutes of any of the freshmen though and they've made it pretty clear they're high on her. Jan called her the best leader on the team at one point.

Yeah, odd take & no…. Honestly, since the beginning of time, parents complain about their kids, not playing enough, not being the lead in the play, not getting enough credit in the 4-H group, the FFA group, etc., etc. etc..

And then fans pick sides on who’s right? Every single girl on this team from the seniors on down have had moments of greatness and extreme moments of inconsistency.

AJ’s dad… Hopefully somebody whispers in his ear and reminds him to let his daughters life play out, second, all Iowa fans need to back the hell up and not make things up that aren’t there.

I mean did you read the tweet exchange? One guy said that he has “a theory” about why Guyton isn’t getting the ball but he doesn’t feel comfortable saying it on dads Twitter feed.

Dad then responds that he agrees with the “theory” and that it is “very disappointing”.

I mean …if the “theory” was simply that the coaches don’t trust her, why wouldn’t the dude be comfortable saying it online?

I know it’s speculative, but I really don’t think I’m going completely crazy here

Right, and Iowa has won 7 of their last 9 since the losing streak with losses to UCLA t home and OSU on the road. It's working.

But you recognize that AJ is a player parent, yes? And that makes every comment or critique a sensitive issue in a public format? And yet, you go with that thought? Says a lot about you.

This is big girl basketball. Nobody should get minutes just to make them happy or because their daddy is upset. If it is working and we are winning that is what matters. I like guyton and hope she stays . If she does, her minutes will come. Remember she is a true freshman, just come off acl repair recovery.

I have no idea how anyone could see race in that exchange. Says way more about you than it does about AJ.

Because the next part says yes, but they are over it” and if they really honestly thought there was a racial context, I sincerely doubt they’d be over it…🤷‍♂️

Keep in mind, it could be as simple as the fan thinking “they are jealous of her, or the seniors are freezing the freshman out or all manners of dumb things” and by the way, I don’t have any reason to believe any of the above. In fact, I’ll take it a step further. I think from what I have witnessed so far, the team chemistry on this team is spectacular. It’s unfortunate the parents and fans lead to it looking like it isn’t…

But I do not in any way shape or form believe in any racial context exists. I mean, let’s be honest, Iowa as a university on all their sports teams are pretty white, but they’re definitely not the only “good team” that is predominantly white. But seemingly the team captain/hero/avatar/everyone’s favorite Iowa Hawkeye is a black girl who sits on the bench and I don’t think has played a meaningful minute her whole career….

If someone is pushing a racial narrative in Iowa, it is 100% made up. At least from my, albeit, limited “vision”

It also another reason why I think “shitty fans” are horrifically unaware of their negative influence to the social ether surrounding the team

To be fair, sensitivity and being in the public eye hasn't really stopped him from posting his thoughts. When he alludes to something when he usually says what's on his mind could be a reason why some people run with it. It must be something big if he won't even say it.

I'm giving AJ the benefit of doubt. But I can see why some others speculate when he gives people a reason to speculate.
