I thought Ellingson and Baer played well and helped us get back into the game. For 2 red-shirt freshmen to get extended minutes and get us the lead was a good sign.

I think this game will be a building moment. Take no possession for granted. Clearly we have some talented shooters. We don't need empty possessions and rushed shots.

Totally agree, we need to value every possession. Uthoff and Jok both tossed up some ill advised shots. Hopefully we learn from this.

I was impressed with Dales long range shot. That thing can bring the rain. There were quite a few wild shots with time in the clock that left me scratching my scalp. I don't understand that with this group. But, as I posted in another thread, we lost our composure a few times. Maybe some fellas thought they were down more than they were. Certainly felt like it at times.

I thought the team did great on the offensive end, I have no arguments there.

The defensive end again is killing us. We for whatever reason can't seem to defend dribble penetration and our rotations in zone killed us again last night. We did a great job of collapsing on the players when they tried driving, the sad thing is our top guys just stood there instead of rotating to cover the shooters. Had a lot of guy standing around and not rotating or recovering. Hopefully Fran will get them turned around.

Also thought the Dayton big men got away with a lot of "clearing" out of the lane for their guards. The last bucket by Dayton, the big just pushed woody out of the way into gessell and the guy went right around him. But that didn't lose us the game, just thought it was a bad no-call.
