ASU can eat shit. Maybe the wrestlers were also looking to move on, I know for sure a few were ready for a change.
He is also considered one the top recruiters in the nation. At least according to his bio.
That’s where I got my undergrad; the scenery is quite impressive pretty much throughout the year. 👍I'm not sure it's the nice winter weather young men seek at ASU.
When someone asks " who is Lee Pritts " ???? It should tell you how well recognized Pritts is... or is NOT known by many wrestling fans. He spouts off how great of a recruiter he is but seems to lose more recruiting battles than he wins. He usually does well with the West Coast kids but most high school kids East of the Mississippi River have no idea who he is.
Hasn't ASU won a few trophies? That is done with coaching and recruiting. He must be doing something right. I have to admit, in full disclosure, I had no idea who he was.
The guy actually IS a pretty solid recruiter and pretty well known overall. Don't be so insular. He DOES have every right to be pissed and, at the same time, Iowa did what they had to do to give them their best chance to win. Both, can be true...
not trying to be insular... just stating that a LOT of people have never heard of him. he was mentioned in a previous post and back then I had to look him up for my own reference. He is not among the household names that Tom and Terry or Carl or Tan Tom or Zeke or Barry or Donnie Or Cary or Lou or John or ANY of the most recognized names
We are talking about high school wrestling. He is about as well known as any assistant coach out there that focuses on recruiting and he does a TON to be seen by that demographic. His job isn't to be known by the average wrestling fan. It is to get in front of as many recruits as possible and sell the program. He has done a great job at this at several programs and I think he deserves even more credit for what he did while at ODU.
I admittedly have some bias, knowing him from his EMU days and have also always been high on Zeke, so I pay more attention to those with a Michigan connection. But, trust me, this guy IS really good at what he does...
You not knowing who Lee Pritts is doesn't mean he isn't a high level recruiter. One of the most respected assistants in the country. Look at the talent ASU's consistently brought in.
And like @MSU158 said, he has every right to be pissed. Iowa stole two of his top wrestlers he's worked hard to develop for the last 5 years. TNT doing what they gotta do, but let's not act like everybody has to take it laying down.

Eh, I don't like to go down the cheating road, but there was definitely a lot done in the "grey" area, which is something PSU excelled in prior to NIL and the transfer portal turning everything into the Wild, Wild West!

Come on, man! I have been about the most vocal supporter of the BrandsX2 on here. That doesn't mean I can't see things for what they are. Lee thinks what happened was shady, to the point he called it cheating. Although it may not be cheating, with how the rules are currently being interpreted, it IS SHADY. PERIOD. Hence why I called it "grey". Still, I get why Iowa is doing it and this is what NIL and the transfer portal has created. Either you take advantage of it, or it takes advantage of you....
With that said, the grey area is now almost a required tool and is where you can make your most headway. Like I said, I think PSU mastered the "grey" area early on with how they used their RTC and its subsequent funding
I wouldn't go as far as calling it cheating. But, the ASU staff has EVERY RIGHT to be pissed and everyone at Iowa would feel the EXACT SAME WAY if one of their top guys left in the same fashion...
I am pretty sure he isn't asking for sympathy. Simply, understanding. The guy should be PISSED as would ANY coach in his situation. No matter what team you are a part of, that should be glaringly apparent...

Sadly, there is no rhyme or reason as to when, why or how he uses it. Also, the post you quoted had two words of emphasis out of 37. He couldn't get down to 5% if he tried. On top of that, I openly admit I like that it bothers some. It further makes sure you see the point, even if you don't like the method behind it.

Nonsense, I loathe the transfer portal and the NIL. If two of our 5th year seniors left and went to PSU or one of our other rivals, I’d be mad at the NIL/portal not the rival school. These kids have all essentially become free agents and are going to continue to go to programs where they have the opportunity to make money and compete for a national title.
How many portal kids did Michigan get last year? Okie State this year? I hate it, but it’s the stupid world that college sports exist in.

That is like saying you wouldn’t be mad at the guy that knew your wife was married and hit on her nonstop for months until she finally gave in and cheated. In the end, your wife, just like the transfers, is the one that ended up being disloyal. But, assuming she/they didn’t initiate the contact and didn’t show immediate interest, you know damn well you would want to break his neck. Hell, most men would want to no matter what…
