Can you give me summation?

I bet that reverend is gayer than Aids.
Not wasting my time. You go do the work. Can you give me summation?
the point is simply that there is a very easy way to discuss mercy, and to pray that the government be one of compassion, without poking him in the eye.If asking the chief civil guest to have mercy is poking him in the eye, why even have a Christian service at that point?
Not wasting my time. You go do the work.
there is no way to directly address something trump disagrees with without him and his followers interpreting it as "poking him in the eye"the point is simply that there is a very easy way to discuss mercy, and to pray that the government be one of compassion, without poking him in the eye.
Simply don’t feel like engaging the same argument with you again.Virtue signalling is easy, right sober?
The “grassroots” republicans haven’t existed in a long time. I’m assuming you thought you were being funny.Exactly, all the qualities of the grassroots Republican Party. Meanwhile, liberals openly celebrate Satanism.
I recommend that a number of you folks should watch the movie Bonhoffer!
They are definitely not offering the other cheek, that's for sure.

Trump demands apology, criticizes bishop’s prayer service remarks
President Trump early Wednesday morning slammed the reverend at a National Cathedral prayer service for the inauguration who called on him to have mercy on transgender children and immigrant families. Trump, in a lengthy post on Truth Social, called Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde’s remarks “nasty”...www.yahoo.com
Trump demands apology, criticizes bishop’s prayer service remarks
Mike Collins should be added to somebody's list.Rep. Mike Collins (R-Ga.) heavily criticized statements made by the Right Rev. Mariann Budde on Tuesday at the inaugural prayer service held for President Trump.
“The person giving this sermon should be added to the deportation list,” Collins wrote in a post on X with a clip of Budde’s comments.
Which parts are you referring to?The biggest take away from this whole thing is that it reemphasizes the importance of separation of church and state.
However, unfortunately Christendom has been in bed with the world's governments for centuries.
Jesus himself said his followers were no part of the world, as he was no part of the world. This basic truth escapes most when dealing with issues of politics and religion.
This kind of social sermon has no business coming from any professed teacher of the Bible.
As someone with the letters M.Div after my name, I can tell you that the credentialed clergy are in lockstep behind the Bishop. She demonstrated immense bravery and faithfulness. So now the Shitlibs are experts on the bible.
Such a Christian thing for you to say. Please enlighten us more on how to be good people of faith.I bet that reverend is gayer than Aids.
He got upset in a different thread about capitalizing the word "trans" and can't get AIDS right.Such a Christian thing for you to say. Please enlighten us more on how to be good people of faith.
True, the "follow my way or forget about Heaven" is the least woke part, and its why I don't buy into that bullshit.John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
One truth and one way to the Father? There's only one right answer. That's not wokeness.
Though, since AIDS killed thousands of heterosexuals too, technically might be correct.Such a Christian thing for you to say. Please enlighten us more on how to be good people of faith.
So don't enforce the laws?
This American Life had a piece this week about the Ukraine war and Trump/Elon taking over. There are apparently a lot of Ukrainians that are under the impression Trump is just saying these things to get elected, but will definitely still keep helping them fight Russia. I have a feeling they're in for a rude awakening.
This cannot be farther from the truth and you know it.As someone with the letters M.Div after my name, I can tell you that the credentialed clergy are in lockstep behind the Bishop. She demonstrated immense bravery and faithfulness.
The synoptic gospels might be more your speed. John is more symbolism and poetry. Focusing on Jesus talking about the way is a less exclusivist interpretation of that verse.True, the "follow my way or forget about Heaven" is the least woke part, and its why I don't buy into that bullshit.
lol. This cannot be farther from the truth and you know it.
The pastor decided to cast judgement at a distasteful time. She should have remembered Matthew 7:5 first and foremost and had the opportunity to point people to Jesus. Instead, she just pointed her finger at Trump.
Many in clergy would not agree with the position she took. They would not have done what she said. A lot of the same clergy also don’t care to get involved in the debate (much smarter than all of us here)!
FWIW - anyone can get a silly M.Div. Acceptance of Christ is not a requirement.
Trump went off on her on X. So no he wasn't fine. He went full-on dick afterward.Vance looked fine. I never saw an look of anger on his face. Trump also looked fine. This is a lot of meh.....
I know this is difficult for your kind to understand. It's ok to do things for others. It's called empathy something the right lacks. In my opinion, she did it for herself.
Sure…as all the poor rural places in the US vote conservative and the corporate hungry money grubbers in the city vote liberal. The “grassroots” republicans haven’t existed in a long time. I’m assuming you thought you were being funny.
The threats she will receive are part of Orange dictators method of controlling people. Hopefully she doesn’t fall out of a window (pardons will be granted if so…)
You will need to provide some data to support your claims. There are many established groups who want to work to care for the less fortunate and immigrate (legally) as many as possible but also demonstrate a clear respect for the rule of law ("give to Caesar what is Caesar," Romans 13, etc).lol.
I said credentialed clergy, not some guy who woke up and decided he was qualified to lead a non-denom. And yes, all of the credentialed clergy groups that I am a part of (thousands) are in united in agreement. Especially when it comes to immigration, the bible is explicitly clear on that one and even conservative credentialed clergy are almost unanimous in agreement.
I am ordained clergy in a mainline denomination. In order to become ordained clergy in a mainline denomination you need to have a Bachelor's degree, a 3-4 year Master of Divinity Degree, go through a year of practical experience, be reviewed by an examination board for many years before approval for ordination. Following ordination you are given a mentor and required to complete annual continuing education, boundary training, and anti-racism training. We are then required to participate in ongoing support groups for education and accountability. In addition to that we undergo a full FBI background check. You will need to provide some data to support your claims. My church belongs to a coalition spanning the southwestern United States (hundreds of thousands) and does not take the stance you are suggesting is "mainstream." We align mainly to Baptist but do not participate in the SBC. All pastorial leadership and teaching pastors are M. Div credentialed or greater. FWIW, my friend worked to get his M. Div and works in semi-conductors....
I would like to understand how you arrived at your assertion with details, please. Can you define "groups I am a part of" to clarify for the record?
Bottom line - a good pastor should consistently and always point people to Jesus. She did not do that. She pointed to Trump with her own agenda instead of Jesus's agenda.
Name your denomination please. No need to hide it, right?I am ordained clergy in a mainline denomination. I participate in a number of clergy groups who represent the thousands of clergy of which I have just described. I assure you, for those who have completed an M.Div at an accredited seminary my stance is vastly more common than yours. Her message was a direct reference to the sermon on the mount. If you have a problem with that your issue is with Jesus, not me. Or her.
Edited to add: Re your reference to render unto Ceaser what is Caeser's is a misinterpretation. A misinterpretation that has been utilized far too often to justify that which Jesus fought against. That text is trying convey the message that there is nothing that is Caeser's which is not God's.
Name your denomination please. No need to hide it, right?
And I guarantee, nothing in the process you described is specific to your denomination.
I think that we agree about Jesus’s Caesar remark. But, do not forget the context and who Jesus was speaking to (Pharisees). Just as Jesus said and Paul confirms, God raises up leaders and Earthly governments and we are instructed to adhere to them.
So you are choosing not to name your denomination? How do you quantify this “no shortage?” By what measure or poll are you referring to?I would encourage you to expand your awareness base a bit. There is no shortage of Christian leaders today loudly and publicly supporting the Bishop. If her words struck you in a way that made you uncomfortable I would encourage you to sit in that discomfort. Go read the sermon on the mount. Read some Matt 25. And then spend some time in prayer and see where your faith, not your politics, guides you.
i'd love for you to turn this critical eye toward the politician that routinely uses christianity as a cudgel, yet cannot name favorite verse and has stated asking forgiveness from god is not necessarySo you are choosing not to name your denomination? How do you quantify this “no shortage?” By what measure or poll are you referring to?
I’ll ask you some simple questions:
- Do you think Budde gave a sermon or a lecture?
- Did she point people to Christ’s grace and redemptive power
- Is her role primarily to spread the Gospel or other? If the former, did she do it Monday? If the latter, what is her role?
