Pryce Sandfort appreciation thread

The kid is really playing well.

In today's 83-68 win at Nebraska, here were his stats:

30 minutes

4-6 (67%) from three
1-3 (33%) from inside the arc
.............................................................
5-9 (56%) Overall Shooting

2-4 (50%) FTs

16 Points

11 Rebounds (1 offensive)
3 Assists (0 turnovers)
0 Steals

0 Blocks
Pryce has been playing under the radar for lots of reasons, but he deserves a lot of credit. He's shown he belongs, and he's been a great shooter without forcing his shots. His whole game has improved, and he'd be a good guy to keep. I think he'd fit McCollom's system very, very well.

Regardless of what happens with Fran, I hope we can keep Pryce.
I’ve been a big fan for a while. He doesn’t have Payton’s range but he’s a much more consistent shooter and he likes to rebound. And not terrible at defense. Not great, but not terrible. I think he may end up being better than Dix because he’s a confident guy and doesn’t disappear if he misses a couple shots.

He is a bit more stiff than Payton (and a lot more than Dix), but he has more of a set shot that does seem repeatable and consistent. He is not really a guard, more of a spot up wing. Very different game than Dix.

He is very scrappy and has a super high IQ.

Really impressed by his growth this season. Fran does a good job with guys between their freshman and sophomore years. Perkins, Kris Murray, and DIx are some other recent guys that didn't have a great first impression in spot minutes and then blossomed into playing big minutes at a high level. I hope Koch follows the same path although he had a couple good moments in his brief time to be optimistic.

Pryce has Better dribble drive game--efg% 60%, I think he's better defender than Payton but I don't know that he's better rebounder. Pryce is better suited to play the wing than Payton and he doesn't seem as prone to wtf moments.

My guess is Pryce will be relatively cheap to keep on NIL. Harding also is a cheap NIL keep and I slot him as a backup PG.

I don't know about FRan's recruits...athletic, but probably lacking skills. I don't see team doing well if both Dix and Freeman are gone
and we have Fran + Fran's recruits.

Yeah, he’s got a little drive to his game but not like Payton or Dix. Of course, Payton didn’t really develop that until he was a junior. The thing I think is impressive is he can shoot the ball on a catch without bringing the ball down. That’s a super tough and rare skill.

It's a shame we didn't get to see Cooper play this year. He would have been an important part of the rotation.

Just deadly from the corner. He has turned into a pretty decent player.
