PSU/tOSU/OSU line ups next season

It's not like Tomasello struggled all year. His only loss of the year came in OT to a great wrestler in Gilman. Yes, it might be a tough cut, like it is for many and always has been, but it certainly didn't seem to effect his on the mat performance. He'll be very good wherever he lands, of that I am certain.

It sure as hell DID effect his on the mat performance: He gassed badly against Gilman, and Gilman broke him in the third, and pinned him in overtime. That's called "effecting performance".

You don't get it. Penn State has top ten talent stacked three deep at every weight class because they don't even want scholarships. They're happy to have to pay their own way through school and be bench backups just for the privilege of being coached by Cael. At least, that's what PSU fans tell me.
LMAO, that is some top notch, top of the line, HATER stuff right there.

Ill take some of that action. I don't believe he will be content to stay at PSU and never start ever again. Hes not going to beat McCutcheon out next year then the writing will be crystal clear to him that as soon as McCutcheon graduates that either Hall or Cenzo will be 165/174 in either order and Nickal will be 184. No way is nickel done growing. And don't kid yourself and misjudge Mcutcheon because when healthy he is night and day different than the dude we saw limp into the postseason. Really for Rasheed to get that 174 spot if Hall does go 165 would have to mean Cenzo was a flop. Ill take it, lord know you guys are do for a top ranked guy to not pan out.

So tell me where is he going to fit in unless you think he going 197? You guys have talk more about the Casser guy than we do Brody lol. But then again PSU is so fun who cares if you start or get a starters equivlant of scholly money. Im sure his parent are ready to pay everything but books to watch him ride the pine when he could move closer to home and start.

Theres an odd man out coming up for PSU, its inevitable. in one way or another one of either Rasheed, Cenzo or McCutcheon wont be starting. my money is on Rasheed transferring begining 2nd semester next year so he can be eligible at Ruthgers 2nd half of the next year.
Here are my predictions Ihawks.

Cenzo starts at 165 next year
Hall RS
Bo mans 174
Rasheed and Cutch fight it out for 184

If Rasheed can't beat Cutch for the 84 job, he has the height and body to stretch to 197 and compete for that job. Whether he is successful at those weights is another matter, but he has crazy upside if he can internalize the weight gain. The staff likes him very much. Supposedly he was walking around at 190 at nationals after failing in his bid to man the 165 slot. Rasheed is perhaps the tallest guy on the team (much taller than Bo), so forget about anything at 174 or below. He's leaping over the crowd to the upper weights.

I believe the PSU middle/upper weights get much more messy in 2017-18.

Just me but Nolf better hope IMar moves up because just like Dake and Taylor and Zain and Stebier he will not beat him again.

I hear what you're saying, but DT never beat Dake, which is sad for me to type ...

I think it's obvious that Imar needs to move up given his performance at B1Gs, but who knows. I am certainly not as sure as you are that Nolf can't beat Imar again since the winning takedown was with 15 seconds left, and Zain is not the same guy who wrestled Logie Bear two years ago, but point taken.

I think Nolf is close only in score with Imar. Imar knew he could score when he had to as long as he had enough gas in the tank. Imar controls every position against Nolf until he starts to gas.

IMO Nato is a contender at either weight with the exception of too much cutting to 125 killing him. Richards is not the tallest guy around either and does fine at 133. Pletcher is not much of an AA threat at 133 next year, I doubt Rodriguez is either. Maybe at 125 they are but not 133.
Not understanding your logic to AUTOMATICALLY assume Luke Pletcher not being an AA threat not having seemingly a chance? If he doesn't, who does coming in as freshman? You do realize true freshman come in an AA all the time, don't you? Pletcher is a consensus top 10 recruit in the class of 2016, consensus top 2 a his weight for last 2 seasons. If he doesn't come I. With a resume to potentially AA then who does? Literally no one using that logic.

Chad Red and only Chad Red.

I hear that. Like Gilman against Megaludis, except that Gilman has never beaten Megaludis and the matches at Big 10s and NCAAs this year were not as close as the matches between Nolf and IMar. Anyway, like you suggest, it's a good thing for Gilman that Mega graduated.

It would make an interesting poll question - what's more likely to happen, Jason Nolf beats IMar in some future match, or Brandon Sorenson some day scores an offensive point against Zain Retherford?

I'm not a PSU fan but I do know Corey personally the country has yet to see what he's really capable of. He was really cutting a lot to make 165 which I'm sure is no secret. He already looks big right now and while I'm sure Nickal will move up it won't be next year, I'm well aware of how good McCutcheon really is I just think Corey will be better. When Chance decommitted from PSU Cael immediately started to personally recruit Corey himself. He will make some noise for them in due time

Between us, I think Rasheed beats Cutch out next year. I know he scored well early and was bothered by injuries much of the latter part of the year, but I just think Rasheed will just hang all kinds of points on people when he isnt sucking down 25lbs. Good problem to have.

He was in real control there in the first period when Nolf took him down and he needed a desperation double granby series flip to get the point that ended up saving him in the end, didn't he?

Tomassello is moving up to 133, he basically said so after the Nationals. He cannot hold 125 for another year. He will open the season, most likely ranked anywhere from 4th to 6th at 133. Cortez will open the season ranked around 8th. Clark will be ranked 1st, as will Gilman at 125.

Joseph entered 2 tourneys at 149 this year and failed weigh ins both times. Could be Nolf/Joseph or Joseph/Nolf for 157/165. My guess is Nolf /Joseph.
No. Joseph tried and fail to enter two tourneys at 157, then went 165 the rest of the way. He will never see 157 again. The real question is at what point Nolf needs to go up, if at all.

He lost one match. The ENTIRE year. Sure hope all our Hawks have the same malady (get a dictionary, you might figure it out).

Doesn't change the fact that he gassed, and the pull was difficult for him.
Gassed all the way undefeated into the National Semi-Finals. Just think how good he could have been otherwise ........................ LOL!

When did he say that? In his interview after 3rd he said he doesn't know what he's doing next season. He'll probably be a 125 again because we don't have anyone else there

Here's a better suggestion, look down at the nearest doorknob to you, and ask it the same question.

Whatever that response is, take it over anything PSU Troll 21 Guns says to you..................

You're welcome.

LMAO. Grow up Nancy.

As I said, NaTo did in fact mention to some folks that he was moving up next year, no it's not on video that I know of, but it's basically a known fact. He can't hold 125, and as mentioned, by Gilman himself, he gassed badly, and that was the NIGHT session.

That's odd. He wrestled 125 for the entire year, went undefeated into the National Semi-Finals and placed 3rd, yet he can't hold 125. Weird.

Hopefully Sorensen can do the same to him next year then.................
