Putin “Double Tapped” First Responders with Second Missile after Murdering Civilians

Wait, are these bad now?

Double-Tap Warfare: Should President Obama Be Investigated for War Crimes?

A “double-tap” drone strike involves bombing a target, waiting a period of five to twenty minutes, often during which first responders arrive, and then bombing the target a second or even third time. This Note argues that such attacks, by virtue of their indiscriminate nature, are likely serious violations of Common Article 3 of the Geneva Conventions of 1949, which prohibits targeting civilians, the wounded, or those placed hors de combat. Thus, such attacks are likely war crimes under international law and under the War Crimes Act of 1996, a U.S. law that criminalizes carrying out, or ordering to be carried out, grave breaches of Common Article 3. The First Geneva Convention of 1949, to which the United States is a party, requires that states enact legislation to punish those who carry out grave breaches of the Convention, and further requires that states take the appropriate steps to enforce these penalties. This Note argues that to conform to international law, the United States should cease the use of double-tap drone strikes immediately, if it has not already. Additionally, the United States should make the criteria it uses to target individuals for drone strikes as transparent as necessary to determine the process’s legality under international law.

Well there is this thing called allies. When our allies die it isn’t good.

At least you were able to equate Obama and Trump. I bet that was fun for you.
Do you think the CINC should be held accountable for "double tap" strikes that kill innocents?

Do you think it is a war crime?

Imagine that. No one wants to talk about war crimes committed by American presidents.

They prefer to get all bent out of shape when foreign governments (allegedly) commit them against each other.

You can’t or won’t differentiate between legitimate enemy combatant targets and civilian targets? Why?

This is intellectually dishonest @seminole97

I will. If Obama senselessly targeted civilians and then double tapped civilians to cause maximum carnage. You and Seminole might have a point.

Turns out, that never happened.

Obama AND Bush. The double tap, by its very nature, is assumed to target innocents.

Read Seminole97’s link - pages 10-11.

Obama’s Weak Defense of His Record on Drone Killings

His choices made unjust strikes predictable and inevitable—and with Donald Trump poised to take power, the precedents he set are all the more alarming.

Maybe Harvard Political Review?

Barack Obama Is A War Criminal

During his presidency, Obama approved the use of 563 drone strikes that killed approximately 3,797 people. In fact, Obama authorized 54 drone strikes alone in Pakistan during his first year in office. One of the first CIA drone strikes under President Obama was at a funeral, murdering as many as 41 Pakistani civilians. The following year, Obama led 128 CIA drone strikes in Pakistan that killed at least 89 civilians. Just two years into his presidency, it was clear that the “hope” that President Obama offered during his 2008 campaign could not escape U.S. imperialism.

The drone operations extended to Somalia and Yemen in 2010 and 2011, resulting in more destructive results. Under the belief they were targeting al-Qaida, President Obama’s first strike on Yemen killed 55 people including 21 children, 10 of which were under the age of five. Additionally, 12 women, five of them pregnant, were also among those who were murdered in this strike. These blundered acts of murder by not only President Obama, but the U.S. government, are morally reprehensible.

Drones kill rescuers in 'double tap', say activists

22 October 2013
The first round of missiles struck a tent in Zowi Sidgi, a village in North Waziristan, at dusk on 6 July 2012. A small group of miners and woodcutters had gathered there for dinner, according to Amnesty International's Mustafa Qadri.
The tent burned. Friends and family members came running to help. A moment later, there was another drone strike. Many of the people who had come to assist their friends and relatives in the tent were also killed.
Altogether 18 people died in the two rounds of drone strikes. One of the victims was a 14-year-old boy. The strikes in Zowi Sidgi fall into a special category of attacks, said Qadri, a lethal operation that includes two phases.
For these attacks, the US relies on consecutive rounds of strikes - missiles are dropped, killing people. A moment later - when people in the area have raced to the scene to help the wounded, another round of missiles is dropped.
This practice, known as a "double tap", as journalists have described, is being used more often.
"They appear to be targeting those who have come in to help those who are injured," said Qadri. "And that's particularly shocking."

Yes, I want them to win.

Now, why don't you answer the questions I asked you:

Do you think the CINC should be held accountable for "double tap" strikes that kill innocents?

Do you think it is a war crime?

Obama’s intent was to kill the guys murdering Afghani’s working in Afghanistan government and also attacking / killing US troops. Huge difference that he won’t acknowledge.
We were doing these 'double taps' in countries beyond Afghanistan, and killing civilians and kids.

Is this really the first time you've heard about this?

TLDR. We invented double taps...

Edit to add: umm before I get killed of course when we did it we had legitimate targets and any innocents were collateral damage and not people and it's only wrong when Russia does it

Your posts would be easier to read if you just said "Donald" or "Trump" or just "Donald Trump".

It reminds me of the guy on the Football Board that would call Brian "Brain" and Ferentz "Ferments"

Nope. Going to remind people every, single, post. But I appreciate the suggestion.

War is hell.

Study history, it’s always ugly.

Putin plans on winning by body count. Ukraine is in deep trouble on a long time line.

Putting dying is the only way Ukraine can win IMO.
