Sure it does. You think it's easy to turn the right way and hand the ball off to someone without falling down?Does it matter?
No. As long as he can protect the ball. Sully can't . Shaggy seems capable.Does it matter?
You really want to see him play an upper middle class SEC team and their derense?!? It won’t be pretty. No need for Kirk to go away from Stratton....they are winning with him.
I'm pretty sure the QB1 has standing orders to play smarter. Some players are better at it than others. That's a good question. I'd bet QChawks left nut (assuming he has one) that Sullivan would go back to starting with orders to play smarter. The team and most of the fans would enjoy a 9th win for the season.
Shit. It wasn't pretty against Nebraska's pedestrian defense. You really want to see him play an upper middle class SEC team and their derense?!? It won’t be pretty.
Turning the ball over three times in a 3 point loss to UCLA wasn't pretty either. Kirk will play the best he has.You really want to see him play an upper middle class SEC team and their derense?!? It won’t be pretty.
Then don’t watch, Miss “I wish I was an ISU alum.” What a pussy. You’re on “Ignore,” little girl. You really want to see him play an upper middle class SEC team and their derense?!? It won’t be pretty.
Irony much? Then don’t watch, Miss “I wish I was an ISU alum.” What a pussy. You’re on “Ignore,” little girl.
You too, sweetie. Enjoy “Ignore” oblivion, little one.Irony much?
Oh no! How will I endure??You too, sweetie. Enjoy “Ignore” oblivion, little one.
Why do you hope they are wrong exactly?I hope a few of these post game analyses are wrong, but most are projecting Marco to hit the portal.
QB depth would be a nice thing to keep around. His scramble ability is pretty solid. Watching spring practice he looks like he's developing, with the major concern being arm strength. Why do you hope they are wrong exactly?
I've been assuming that Marco would hit the portal for quite a while now, even before the emergence of Stratton. Do you really think he has a role on this team moving forward? I'm disappointed he never really got a chance but I think it's time for both parties to move on.I hope a few of these post game analyses are wrong, but most are projecting Marco to hit the portal.
If Jackson Stratton takes any significant snaps going forward for Iowa, it won’t be a good thing.I've been assuming that Marco would hit the portal for quite a while now, even before the emergence of Stratton. Hasn't played a live snap. I'm not losing any sleep over losing any QB's from the Brian Ferentz era. None of them have panned out. All have transferred or busted. With just the bowl remaining having the only 2 QB's with a chance of playing healthy is all the depth they need. Based on what they see over the next few weeks will probably dictate how many QB 's will be retained for next year. I think they might be thinking that they already know who their backups will be.QB depth would be a nice thing to keep around. His scramble ability is pretty solid. He's only a redshirt sophomore next year. I would prefer to see him over Stratton, I don't understand how anyone thinks he has "emerged." He looked like garbage against Debby. He only looked decent against a Maryland.I've been assuming that Marco would hit the portal for quite a while now, even before the emergence of Stratton. I have a hard time arguing with this, but you need depth in the QB room, and he has at least shown that he can provide that. 2-0 as a starter and zero turnovers as a Hawkeye; sounds like a solid backup QB.If Jackson Stratton takes any significant snaps going forward for Iowa, it won’t be a good thing.
He looked good at UCLA, also. I'm not going to judge a QB based on his lone start at home in a rivalry game. I suppose if I had to choose between the two to be Iowa's QB2 next season (actually, QB3, if we can bring in a rock-solid portal guy) I'd prefer ML based on the raw talent, but at this very moment Stratton has had more of an impact on the team and he is a TL recruit. It just feels like the writing is on the wall for ML to move on, so I guess I've resigned myself to that. He's only a redshirt sophomore next year. Honestly, depending on whoever we bring in via the portal, I'm hoping the top 3 in some order is Sullivan, portal guy and (Jimmy) Sullivan. My understanding is that Jimmy will be early enrolling so I think that would be doable.I have a hard time arguing with this, but you need depth in the QB room, and he has at least shown that he can provide that. 2-0 as a starter and zero turnovers as a Hawkeye; sounds like a solid backup QB.

Marco has no role on this team, clearly.I've been assuming that Marco would hit the portal for quite a while now, even before the emergence of Stratton. I am thinking Lainez is the next qb to transfer out of the program.Sullivan. Cade quit. Or maybe give Lainez a chance if his wrist is healthy.
He was 3 for 6 against UCLA, I don't think I'd use that game as an example at all. He under threw WRs against Nebraska. It was a miserable night, so I wouldn't say that is a bench mark either, but he has absolutely not "emerged."He looked good at UCLA.

I think that this is the most likely scenario as well, with (hopefully) portal guy being good enough to displace Sullivan as the starter. I'm so ready to see some high quality QB play after the last 4 brutal years. It's really hard to believe what's happened at the most important position in sports since Stanley left.Honestly, depending on whoever we bring in via the portal, I'm hoping the top 3 in some order is Sullivan, portal guy and (Jimmy) Sullivan. Here's hoping there's a genuine spring game/scrimmage next year.
My bad. I forgot about that.Huh? he played against Tenn in the bowl.
Sullivan should start and play most of the game, but Stratton should get a few series, and I'd like to see Lainez get a first half series or two. But playing three QBs would require Iowa to run more than 40 plays, so . . .Who will it be?
Nebraska actually has a decent defense.Shit. It wasn't pretty against Nebraska's pedestrian defense.
Wisconsin put up 25 points and 400+ yards the week before. USC put up 28 and 441 yards the week before that. It's not the kind of defense that should hold you to 20 yards and 1 1st down in a half on your home field. That was all Iowa right there.Nebraska actually has a decent defense.
