Question for those who agree AOC's dancing video makes here a "nitwit".....

Who called her a nitwit? My understanding was that it was an anonymous Twitter user...which would hardly make this newsworthy. Seriously, are there any actual people, people that hold any type of position in this world, that have called her this related to a dancing video?

I know that some people don't like the term "fake news", but this is sounding like that to me. She looks to me to be a pretty good dancer and what some college kid many years ago is hardly a concern for me at this point.

It was the idiot far-righers at Qanon, not mainstreamers, to be honest.

But I had to share the video, because it is FAAABULOUS! :D

OK, I don't even know what Qanon is. (I just googled it now.) But I hardly think that the reported "uproar" is even a real thing. Yet, I am 99% sure that I saw a story on it on the ABC national news a couple of days ago.

Just one more reason to be suspect of today's MSM.

It would be interesting to see what kind of support AnonQ got from the right for the video before he/she was f'n buried by derision.

If you pay attention, the Q anon folks make up a pretty substantial percentage of Trump's core base. They are definitely among the most vocal.

The only reason the video surfaced was because a conservative Twitter account published it while calling AOC a "nitwit" and a "commie".

Agree that the counter-reaction was hypebolic and silly, but calling it "fake news" is a stretch. As it literally would not have been in the news AT ALL if not for a conservative finding it and re-publishing it in an attempt to mock her.

BTW, what is Perry doing there? It looks like he may be acting in a play. Either that or he just found out that he never needs to wait in line for world famous ice cream cones at Carver Hawkeye. :)
I guess he was on Dancing With the Stars. Which, ew. :) (the show, I have no problems with Rick - he seems like a stand up fella)

What does this video of Trump's Secretary of Energy make him?

Not one Republican has been named who called her a nitwit or disagreed with the video. Please provide a link that says otherwise. It is all unnamed and anonymous sources that people take as fact. It is crazy that people don't expect news sources to actually name names.

Who said anything about Republicans?

Qanon is a relatively large and vocal online community of far-right conservatives.

It is simply that one anonymous Twitter account source can't be reliably stated as posted by a 'conservative'.

BS.

How do you even know it was a real person, much less a real conservative person? Some anonymous person who had a mention of Q Anon in their bio. He/she had 21 followers.

Who BTW has cancelled their account. Yet somehow that got mentioned as mainstream GOP... what a joke.

Hell, I wouldn't be at all surprised if she didn't do it herself. I know he tagged her but it went viral pretty quick, Awful convenient.

How about the video of Trump bustin' a move handicap reporter style? How do Trumptwits think of that? Exactly.

But OMG, a young Latina woman dancing to music. The horror of it all!

Smmfh. Fuggin Trumptwits.

I don't disagree. My opinion of ALL of the MSM is pretty low, whether they be tilted to the right or to the left. As others have also similarly said in this thread...about all it takes nowadays for something to get national news attention is an anonymous social media post and then a "reaction". So much drama, so little actual journalism.

Who, besides a few idiots in a country of 360 million people on social media, is saying that the Ocasio dancing video is a horror? I think you are working yourself up over almost nothing.

And I would add to that list the drumming up of outrage over culture from the past. The whole controversy over the "Baby, it's cold outside" song is ridiculous.

I am somewhat proud to say that I truly do not know the story on the "Baby, it's cold outside" flap. Help a brother out here...who am I supposed to be outraged at on that one? Seriously.

Haven’t seen any legit articles, social media nor have I met anyone that has a problem with her dancing. The MSM is making a big deal of this to make republicans look stupid and make Cortez more relatable. It’s not like she was a stripper or wrote pornographic material for a living (Sanders).

I was being hyperbolic.

I agree it's only a few idiots on the right worked up about it.

However, what I will say is people like Sean Hannity who doted all this undue attention on AOC have created the inane hoopla surrounding her. And the Trumptwits are eating it up. Showing a video of her dancing in college is intended to make a mockery of her competency to serve in Congress. And that's the point I'm making. If you want to challenge her on the issues and her competency from a political standpoint, cool (although if you support Trump the bar couldn't be set much lower). But if you're going to do it by showing a video of her dancing like a normal young woman in college would to convey she is inept, that's beyond pathetic.

I agree with that. What story? I obviously missed something

This was probably a created controversy not entirely as a way to shame republicans but to get people to pay attention to an AOC video that no one would otherwise care enough about to pay attention to. Since it paints her in a good light.

I don't like the policies she promotes nor do I think she particularly wise or learned, but she is likeable sure.

Lol, I can't help ya, homie.

It's a cheesy conflicting duet from when my grandparents were young adults. I'm 37, so take this with a grain of salt, but I think it's about a dude trying to convince his love bird to stay inside and do a little hanky panky since the weather outside is a tad brisk.

Now, however many decades later, it's a paradigmatic representation of misogyny and a permissive sexual assault culture. And thus, part of the rallying cry of the MeToo movement. A movement which I support on the premise many men commit sexual assault with impunity, men I would love to see castrated, but the outcry over such a corny, lame ass song from my grandparents' day I find to be beyond ridiculous.

Hope that helps.

I'm so grateful there is no video of some of the stupid shit my friends and I did in college.

I'm no fan of hers as she's too far from center for me but big deal. Anyone up in arms about this video is an idiot.
