Kinda wish he was though.
Kinda wish he was though.
Luckily for him, it still counts as a tackle when you latch on & get dragged a few extra yards.Check the stats, he's 3rd leading tackler on the team behind Higgins & Jackson.
I'm not totally against him coming back, but think we've got guys in waiting that can get the job done & would rather free up schollys to bring in difference makers on O.
Nestor isn't a safety though. He has been playing corner and there is some speculation that he will end up at cash.I'm in the same boat sorta.
I think Nestor is ready to play next year.

Where did he rank on the team in tackles this past year??“hits like a ton of bricks”……lmfao. While he’s a heady player who’s usually in good coverage position, he is by no means a thumper & is more likely the one getting run over.
There are other ways to free up scholarships without pissing on a starter on Phil's defense.....but I'm sure you know more than Phil. Right?Luckily for him, it still counts as a tackle when you latch on & get dragged a few extra yards.

Then they should go out and prove it this spring. I don't think Phil is going to play favorites.....I think Phil puts what he feels are the best 11 out there at any one time. Are we saying Phil does not know any better? I would trust his judgement no matter who the starter ends up being. I remember Phil putting Riley out there as a freshman and it did not look good early but we all know how that ended. If someone beats Schulte out then I am 100% behind him.I'm in the same boat sorta.

Out of all Big Ten safeties that played at least 50% of defensive snaps, Schulte had the 6th highest grade. Nwankpa was 5th. (1-Thieneman from Purdue, 2-Nubin from Minnesota, 3t-Winston from PSU, 3t-Wohler from Wisconsin).I can't bring myself to pay $120 to subscribe to PFF for ranking players by position for NCAA, but I would bet Schulte is up there in those safety rankings.
Even Dochterman raved about him (on tv last Monday night) and how great it was Quinn was coming back too.
Taylor from Air Force winning the Thorpe Award was an absolute joke.Out of all Big Ten safeties that played at least 50% of defensive snaps, Schulte had the 6th highest grade. Nwankpa was 5th. (1-Thieneman from Purdue, 2-Nubin from Minnesota, 3t-Winston from PSU, 3t-Wohler from Wisconsin).
Out of all FBS schools, Schulte ranked 13th (Nwankpa was 7th). The four safeties mentioned above were 1-4, 5th was Oladapo from Oregon State, 6-Nwokobia from SMU, 7t-McNeil-Warren from Toledo, 9-McCollough from Tenn, 10-Downs from Bama, 11-Dowell from Miami OH, 12-Taylor from Air Force.
2026 is the last year for COVID players unless I’m mistaken. If you were a freshman in 2020 you’d be able to be on the roster until ‘26.Last year for Covid players so this should change moving forward. Those young men should all get a nice NIL package.
Pretty damn good.Out of all Big Ten safeties that played at least 50% of defensive snaps, Schulte had the 6th highest grade. Nwankpa was 5th. (1-Thieneman from Purdue, 2-Nubin from Minnesota, 3t-Winston from PSU, 3t-Wohler from Wisconsin).

FudgePacker- sounds like you’re ready to lead his Heisman campaign next year! Maybe Frosty will loan u his #30 jersey & the QS poster he has on his bedroom ceiling. There are other ways to free up scholarships without pissing on a starter on Phil's defense.....but I'm sure you know more than Phil. Right?
Totally agree. He stuck his nose in there to get a stop, something most posters on this site would never do. In life you'll always come up against somebody bigger and tougher. You may get in a few licks, take your lumps and move on.I disagree, he got trucked by RB that's a big man, one time. QS is normally in much better body position for that not to happen. lastly, it happens to a lot of players, even DL and LB.
QS at least slowed him down so the other 10 could pile on.Totally agree. He stuck his nose in there to get a stop, something most posters on this site would never do. In life you'll always come up against somebody bigger and tougher. You may get in a few licks, take your lumps and move on.
Again.....I am sure you know more than Phil. What a piss licker you are.FudgePacker- sounds like you’re ready to lead his Heisman campaign next year! Maybe Frosty will loan u his #30 jersey & the QS poster he has on his bedroom ceiling.
I’ve never thought to myself: “Schulte is good.”
That being said, there’s an obvious benefit to playing alongside the same guys over several seasons.
No, there are about a half dozen users on here that think he is the worst and just preventing someone better from playing!
that hit was from Castro.Allen is still dizzy from the hit he took last year where he fumbled.
Seriously? So pretty much everyone lauds Phil and his defensive mind. HE wants the kid back as a 3rd year returning starter, but YOU disagree? Hmmm, what to do.......Luckily for him, it still counts as a tackle when you latch on & get dragged a few extra yards.
