Racist Fans-- kind of sad if true

They really can’t both be right. There is no my truth, your truth, or his truth. There is THE TRUTH. You know. Like what actually happened.

#1 A racial slur was yelled at him.

#2 He thought it was a racial slur but misheard what was said.

#3 He lied (for a multitude of possible reasons)

I would like to believe the truth is #1 or #2 as I would hate to think he lied in this situation but who knows.

Either way it’s a good thing to condemn racism or potential racism. I’m glad Tom is our leader.
It’s possible to have a fan not hear something another does hear. The first one didn’t hear anything. That’s a truth. But it doesn’t automatically mean the other is lying.

Well yes. That’s why I said maybe someone misheard it. Just because someone isn’t lying doesn’t mean they are telling the truth. They make think it’s the truth but they are wrong. I’m fairly certain the truth is one of the three I posted. Maybe there’s a 4th option I haven’t thought of but I think it’s just the three.

They can both be right. That’s the point.
then why attack those who disagree with you and think there should be proof before reacting to allegations? America was founded on guilty until proven innocent but that's not allowed in woke world for racial or sexual accusations. Mob must feed!!!!

Truth is there just arent enough racist episodes in the USA anymore to feed the media drama machine. I come from a large military family and our yearly reunion is a united nations convention of white brown black and yellow people (no red but my son will pretend to to be an Indian get in to Harvard :)) . One of my black cousins sent me this. Reminded me of some people on this board.

Some are making allegations of the alleged victims lying due to lack of proof. That’s why.

Some were even arguing that Tommy didn’t make his statement on the subject in good faith. And that’s a bad look, imo.

Relax. Take a slow controlled deep inhale. Hold it. Then a slow exhale. Repeat.
"Controlled" interesting word--- something your kind likes to impose... right after judging.

One can Never relax when MORANS like you are around!! The mob is more important than the truth.

Tell me again how no business would want their product associated with racial issues. Classic wokeism- Ignore the obvious because it does not fit your current agenda. What shoes do the hawks wear? You Never heard of NIKE???? Moran!!!!

You Never heard of NIKE???? Moran!!!!
And how long did that ad campaign last?

It aired in 2018/2019. And I haven't seen it recently.

Was it good for Nike's bottom line?

Nike said 10% increase in sales. And so isn't that the point? To sell shoes.

But I see you pointed out the exception that proves the rule. Why not point out the entire NBA while your at it?

If you think a college wrestler is going to pull in big NIL bucks by faking a racial controversy, which seemed to be your original premise, then you're proving who the "moran" is.

"No company want to be associated with racial problems"....that was your point. Keep back peddling Moran, you remind me of an Ok State wrestler. Nike just trying to make money....right..... Meanwhile chew on this..

Microsoft contributed 1 Billion dollars in "diversity and inclusion efforts" after BLM riots
Cisco 100 million
Comcast 100 million
Soft Bank 100 million
Paypal 535 million

I know of no corporate advertiser that would want their offerings associated with racial problems.

You woke types just cant admit when you are wrong. About now is when you make something up to try and save face. Hilariously predictable.

So you're a freedom loving capitalist who acknowledges being "woke" pays off, but you don't share the beliefs of whatever your perception of what being woke is?

I get it.

You are just trying to pivot the debate away from your ridiculous assertion that Austin was motivated to either concoct the story or play it up for a big NIL payday. That somehow in that environment and moment your constipated logic that forefront in Austin's mind was leveraging a broader "woke" movement remains preposterous.

Give it a rest already.

Diversity and inclusion pays off in part because: 1) the labor pool is shrinking and corporations cannot afford to alienate any substantial portion of the prospective work force; and 2) toxic work environments, where employees do not feel safe to be their authentic selves, lead to increased rates of turnover, which cost businesses money. In other word, diversity and inclusion are good business decisions.

Nike just trying to make money....right.
FYI - Colin Kaepernick was a Nike athlete since being drafted in 2011. So yes, Nike more than likely leveraged an opportunity in 2019.

Here's a nice write up on Fox Business

You added the word "just."

The way publicly owned corporations work is that they have a fiduciary responsibility to their shareholders. As such, making money is going to be a factor in most, if not all, decisions.

Have you ever worked for a large publicly traded corporation?

Maybe you should buy some stock in the publicly traded companies with which you take issue. Then you can go raise your issues at their annual shareholders meetings before dumping the stocks.

I expect that could only be more effective than airing your political grievances on a wrestling board.

You do realize there’s no such thing as “yellow” people, right? Asians are considered white. They’ve always been considered white. It’s totally offensive to Asians.

I'm not too sure @armbartilt is overly concerned about offending people.

I doubt he was referring to people with elevated bilirubin levels, but I wouldn't want to "assume."

At least he didn't refer to Asians as orientals.

Seriously! Orientals is bad..........Damn.

Hard for us oldsters to keep up.

Mrs. Kwood always gives me that "look"..........when i say Negro.

Shhheeeessssshhhhhhhhhhhh

You guys realize there is another kind of “yellow”, right? 😉

Oriental is for things like rugs while Asian is for people. But I am willing to assume you knew that and were making a funny. You can go with BIPOC now as a safer bet to stay out of trouble with the Mrs.

I haven't heard that part from anybody. Perhaps that is what is actually your opinion in this instance.

I think Tommy's statement was in good faith. We may have a difference of opinion on what that exactly means.

Asians are white? My Asian relatives disagree. Go tell that to every Ivey league admissions board who penalize Asians 100 points and whites 50 points... and the US supreme court which is about to hear a case on exactly that. Yours is probably the dumbest racist post on here.

By the way I was being sardonic--- look it up dopey.

I don't have issue with private companies supporting whatever they want. That's not the issue we were discussing. For those not following along here is the recap-- you stated that companies don't want to get involved in racial problems. I referenced Nike. You said that was the exception and Nike needed to make money for shareholders and obligation to support Kapenick.
So I gave you other example of companies giving massive $ not to generate revenue. Your response is non sequitur. The means lacking logic from previous exchange. So predictable for a woke person.

BTW I manage over 20 Mil of retirement funds for our "small business" and am very familiar with fiduciary duty and your interpretation of that is absurd. So by your example Microsoft violated their fiduciary duty by giving BLM etc 1 billion? You are a Moran!!!

YOU stated that there was no reason for AG to want this attention and you are wrong. It COULD benefit him.
Attention equals money in any spectator sport. You then shifted to "corporate" interests and racism and that none would want to be involved in racial issues and you are wrong again --Nike Microsoft BLM etc.
Next it was non sequiter strawman arguments
Now it is ad hominin attacks instead of saying you were wrong.
You are pathetic- You are woke- I am being redundant.

I gave you other example of companies giving massive $ not to generate revenue.
To more accurately recap..

You created a false equivalency between Austin Gomez situation with a NIL money grab deal.

Then you tried to deflect the entire discussion toward Nike's Kaepernick ad campaign. Facts are Kaepernick was being sought by other shoe manufacturers after effectively being shelved by Nike for two years.

You seem to not understand business nor that Nike could've been protecting its interests by mitigating potential negative advertising.

Then you created another false equivalency between advertising to help maintain market share of sports apparel with corporate recruitment and retention issues related to diversity and inclusion.

Then you brought up discrimination against white and Asians by Harvard after sardonicly referring to Asians as yellow people.

I was called a "N-word lover" once to my face over 40 years ago as a high school junior. Your repeatedly referring to me as "woke" as some anonymous on-line poster, like I should take it as an insult, has no impact. If I am "woke" then I'll take it as a compliment (sardonic or not).

I am done engaging you. Others implied you may have some mental illness. If that's the case, I am sorry I engaged you in the first place.

Dude. You’re like the coolest keyboard warrior on HR. Rock on!
Sincerly,
Moran

I don't believe you are crazy about much, if anything, beyond busting balls sometimes to the extreme.

I doubt you two are related, unless there's a multiple-personality thing going on.
