WALLINGFORD, Conn. – Police say two are dead and two injured after a shooting outside a Connecticut theater late Friday night following a concert.

A Wallingford police spokeswoman tells the Record Journal that officers responded to reports of shots fired outside the Oakdale Theatre after rapper Meek Mill performed. Officers found two dead and say the other two with non-life-threatening injuries were taken to hospitals.

Police haven't released the names and ages of the four victims.

The spokeswoman says no one is in custody. Authorities didn't immediately release information on suspects or vehicles.

Lt. Cheryl Bradley says the show had just ended and the Oakdale was closing when the shooting occurred. Authorities haven't linked violence to the performance or the rapper.

Mill, whose real name is Robert Williams, was recently under house arrest after violating probation for the fourth time in eight years.

This. Lil Yachty is one of the worst things I've ever heard in my life.

This thread makes it easy to spot anyone over 60.

I am not over 60. Not even over 50 and am the first to admit I am not up on the current hip hop and rap world. When my teenage kids and their friends get in the car, the Music in their phones is dominated by so many artists I have never heard of. The list is very long. I think the last hip hop album I bot was Tupac. Maybe N B.I.G. Not sure.
It's definitely harder to stay up on it but the expansion of hip hop and rap as a genre is incredible.

Rap music brings out the absolute worst in me. It's the one genre of music I negatively stereotype its listeners, and I hate doing that. (OK, modern country is the other one.) I'm embarrassed to admit that because stereotyping does no one any good.

I care deeply about music, studied it, play it, used to write about it professionally, but I can't understand the appeal of rap. Music to me is always at its most exciting and alive when there's thematic development, harmonics, melody, interesting rhythms, and I have a very hard time hearing any of that rap.

If I'm honest, rap is actually quite remarkable in that it is so non-stimulating musically. In fact, I define it as the absence of music.

In the interest of balance, I am aware it has been an important poetic genre in giving a voice to urban plight.

I'm very pleased to report I've never heard of any of the artists mentioned by the OP or most of the others in this thread.

i got 5 minutes into the Ryan Seacrest New Years "rocking" even party and thank the rock that i must live under.

Makes me appreciate the music and bands i listen to all the more

Interesting view.

Meh, just go back to Tribe, Wutang, Public Enemy, etc.

New age dance hip hop shit is terrible. I like the simple beats.

Also a rock fan so RATM is my wet dream.
Just found out Wutang is putting out a new album in a couple months.
