My guess is he didn't decommit or open his recruiting. I'd ASSUME Iowa was going to give Teasdale a full ride. Wonder if that same offer, if presented to RBY, would entice him to Iowa City?

The only way Bravo-Young will see the mat is if Teasdale ends up being a 25 pounder or he can beat Teasdale. I see them both as 33 pounders or 141 if they grow. That is where Nick Lee will be and Brady Berge at 149. Suriano will be at 25 or 33 for 3 more years and Cortez at 133 has 2 years left. One of them will be sitting.

they all get one year to shine as they all stagger their redshirt years to accomodate multiple national champions from the same team at the same weight.

plug n play

Berge will only be at 49 for one year(RSFR) after Zain graduates then he will move to 57(So) after Nolf graduates.

Nick Lee also will move up to 49 (Jr) after Nolf graduates.

That leaves 25,33,41 open for
Suriano SR
Teasdale RSFR
RBY RSFR

Remember Cortez will be gone. So There will be room for all of them. Only person that will sit is Joe Lee and Manville for a year.

Must have got one of the upperclassmen to give up one of their scholarships in lieu of a juicy camp in 12-24 months.

This. My only question would be if Nick Lee is going to grow into a 149, but this seems like a pretty logical scenario.

Other than Willie's tweet that RBY followed Tom Brands was there anywhere else that said he has actually opened up his recruiting?

Willie also tweeted that he wouldn't be going to Penn State. He was talking to other schools, but likely came back to Penn State when he realized that there was room and he was still part of their plan. Crap like this is why I am quickly losing interest in anything about recruiting until the letter is signed. No interest in following the melodrama between coaches, recruits, and fan bases.

Most likely Sanderson made him part of the "plan" after seeing that he was considering Iowa. He probably didn't think he would consider Iowa.

I hadn't read that anywhere. THanks.

17/18
125 Suriano
133 ?
141 Cortez (Lee rs)
149 Zain (Berge rs)
157 Nolf

18/19
125 Suriano
133 Teasdale/RBY (one redshirts)
141 winner of Lee/Cortez
149 Berge
157 Nolf

19/20
125 Suriano
133 Teasdale/RBY
141 Teasdale/RBY
149 Lee
157 Berge

Plenty of scenarios will see RBY in the lineup without missing any years of eligibility. Plus Suriano still has a redshirt year if RBY or Teasdale need to stay @125 early. As for Manville, that's another story.

I agree with this sentiment.

I'm really not at all interested in things over which we have no control, and to a large degree, that includes high school kids changing their minds about their program of choice.

I'd much rather focus on things we can control, and Iowa fans are stepping up in a big way and doing just that -- and we're just barely getting started. I'm extremely optimistic about the present and near future of Iowa wrestling.

Given the history and tradition of the program, the best fan support nationwide, a top-notch coaching staff that does things the right way, a premier facility on the horizon, and a powerhouse of a HWC in development, Iowa is on the road to again becoming the place top recruits want to go. Recruiting has already picked up in a big way, and that has happened before any of the recent (or, obviously, future) developments. It's only going to get stronger.

So while I never recommend getting bent out of shape about any teenager's college plans, more and more of the top recruits will be looking for spots in Iowa's lineup. It's gonna be f*** to watch.

159-0. He couldn't have let somebody else win just once? And now he's hogging all these national team titles? He's a very, very selfish man.

That's Cael on the couch.

So Penn State will have Suriano, RBY, Teasedale, Lee, Berge, Manville, Joseph, Hall, Beard, Whitlake, and Nevills all in 10 weight line up? You almost have to laugh at this point. They're 11 deep (if I haven't missed anyone) with guys that are top 10 overall recruits.

I don't think Beard has committed to PSU, but doesn't mean he wont.

Busiello has verballed too. Glory, Raimo and Silva have all been linked to them as well! Pretty crazy....

I don't believe he's 'officially' expressed interest in any schools (as in never announced top 5 or anything), but I think Iowa, NC State with his brother, and some others are in the conversation.

Here is an interview from March in which he says that his top schools are Lehigh, Ohio State, NC State, Purdue, Cornell and Penn State:

Seems like Cael can find a way for anyone sure wish the Hawks could come up
with his plan but they maybe not;)

Waaaaaa!
Just so I understand your wailing you think Cael would be a much better man if he were to direct a recruit or two Iowa's direction.
Christ, your posts make you sound like a bitter, illogical dude.

Pablow is a pretty good dude but he's no JC. But no, what I think Pablo is saying is that somebody is going to have to wrestle above their natural weight. Guilbon was better at 33...a contender. Going up had an adverse effect on him.

This is true. If PSU can get all these kids to sign their NLI's, then they won't be recruiting hard the next couple years. Maybe a specific need, etc. So that will leave the door open quite a bit for everyone. Besides, there are quality kids five deep at every weight being recruited every year and who knows which ones rise to the top in college. The ultimate crap shoot.

Actually I was thinking about how Dan Gable passed on Alan Fried after he decided to go with the Brands. Cael would have double-booked that in a heartbeat.

I also gave a half-thought to Cael's lack of sensitivity to the plight of Andrew Long.

You just sort misunderstood my post.
