RBY...

Pablow is a pretty good dude but he's no JC. But no, what I think Pablo is saying is that somebody is going to have to wrestle above their natural weight. Guilbon was better at 33...a contender. Going up had an adverse effect on him.

Anyone with Claude Rains as an avatar is ok in my book.

This is true. If PSU can get all these kids to sign their NLI's, then they won't be recruiting hard the next couple years. Maybe a specific need, etc. So that will leave the door open quite a bit for everyone. Besides, there are quality kids five deep at every weight being recruited every year and who knows which ones rise to the top in college. The ultimate crap shoot.

Exactly, winning those key battles in the next 2 recruiting classes will be key if the Hawks want to capture 3rd-4th place at Nats. Good luck

So Penn State will have Suriano, RBY, Teasedale, Lee, Berge, Manville, Joseph, Hall, Beard, Whitlake, and Nevills all in 10 weight line up? You almost have to laugh at this point. They're 11 deep (if I haven't missed anyone) with guys that are top 10 overall recruits.

I believe Jarrod Verklereen has PSU on his short list also, after he reopened his recruiting. Although I thought I heard the Gophers are the favorites. His announcement is coming on May 5.

All of the drama with Ramos leaving did the Hawkeyes no favors.
I agree with this, Ramos' demeanor was always a lightning rod for haters. Then one day he gets worked by a teammate and gets his feelings hurt and all of the sudden he's the victim and those same people jumped to his side and attacked big bad Iowa in his defense. The way he left was childish and lame but whatever....

Recruiting has picked up which is awesome and something to build on but it is going to take some time to climb out of the negative canyon the opposing coaches and fan bases have thrown us in. I have faith "we" are on our way!

Rby, Teske, Silva or Raimo, any of these guys would be wise to consider Iowa if they want to maximize their potential. Throw in Sasso with one of them and I'm a happy camper!

I've always believed that negative recruiting is not only petty but that it's also short-sighted. It may help you win a few battles, but I think it's likely to come back to bite you eventually.

I like our chances very much in the long run. One of my favorite quotes: "The race is not always to the swift, but to those who keep on running." Just keep on running, Hawks -- we're headed squarely in the right direction.

Somehow if there is a top recruit they will still find a spot and scholarship. See Alabama..And Michigan...Good old Jim...

a golden oldie.... thought by many (myself included), then along comes Retherford and Nolf (and Nickal and Hall and Joseph and on and on....)
Secretly deep down inside, many of us were worried that it might be true. I mean, the odds favored it to be truthful. Then came the class of N, N, and N...

and then the class of RBY, Teasdale, Beard etc just seems like no end when will the slush fund run out never cause the rich just put another 5 million in ;)

I agree. Lets remember the good things he did and realize we all at any age have our moments of immaturity. (just ask our wives:rolleyes:) Besides didnt Tom say the door is still open.
Tony has said he'd love to come back to IOWA to coach some day. He knows it's not soon as Tom and Terry aren't going anywhere. And M* and Berhow are young guys. He said he needed to strike while the iron was hot and still had name recognition, that there is always young guys coming out of college that want to coach.

Tell them you promise to buy the whole team Guero Canelos's or BK's (not Burger King) Sonoran dogs if a certain somebody does the right thing. Should do the trick.

Once Ruth and Taylor graduate everything will return to normal.
For sure. And they cheat like crazy, that's why they have been penalized so heavily, and...........
Andrew Long ...... clearly all Their fault, not the person. And look how they abused Chance Marstelar etc. etc..
Trying to drag others down to make ourselves better does not have a good history.

I'm so, so, so tired of all the PSU fans posting on every thread on this board. Sure hope we make the changes needed to right the ship and put us back where we belong. I don't see us having a chance for at least 3 more years and I have never felt that way in the past. I read that Jden Cox needed a full ride so he didn't consider us because of that. A couple guys every year deserve a full ride. If we haven't made that adjustment we are wrong.

I just want to say, that man, this is some more excellent wrestler development by Bael.

He may not get the best, but he teaches them to be the best.
