Or was the government and people back then the same? Are the problems then, still here today?
Thanks for the libtard synopsis.Reagan was not much more than an actor who used his oratory skills to talk his way into office. He grew the size of the government after he took office and tripled the debt. All he really stood for were rich tax cuts.
God you're exhausting. Should we all get on here and bash Obama being nothing more than a community organizer. Then discuss how he grew the government the most since FDR?Reagan was not much more than an actor who used his oratory skills to talk his way into office. I did listen to the video. It was all small government this, small government that. Except Reagan made the government bigger. His message is meaningless. Even he didn't believe it.God you're exhausting. Should we all get on here and bash Obama being nothing more than a community organizer. Then discuss how he grew the government the most since FDR?
Please don't listen to the things he said in the video, you might learn something.
Reagan saved us from Jimmy Carter and that's the reason Iowa turned red. Clinton benefitted greatly from the dot com boom and the enormous tax monies that flowed from all the capital gains. Never mind that morally he and Trump are in the same slimy boat. Just look at where Biden was in 2007 on the border and crime and see just how far the Ds have moved to the left, while the Trump Rs have moved the other way...There were less federal employees under Obama than Reagan. About a million less. Same with Clinton. In fact if you want the real Reagan it is Clinton. He actually did everything that Reagan only pretended to.
I can do that too.Bill Clinton was not much more than an actor who used his oratory skills to talk his way into office.
Jimmy increased the debt by 37%. Reagan increased it by 280%. Boy that's some save job.Reagan saved us from Jimmy Carter and that's the reason Iowa turned red. Can you balance the budget like Bill?I can do that too.
This is true.Reagan would be considered a democrat in this environment. The party of Reagan is in the rear view mirror.
Yep, the war in Vietnam that began under LBJ and the Ds had severe consequences down the road, no question about it. War always makes for inflation down the road...Jimmy increased the debt by 37%. Reagan increased it by 280%. Boy that's some save job.
He was one of the last presidents who actually worked with the other side to get legislation done. In his 8 years as the president, he had a Democrat House and Senate to pass bills. So was it him or the Congress who grew the government because they hold the purse strings. You're statement is partially correct, but it's like saying that Obama wasn't an effective president the last six years of his presidency. He had to work with the Republicans to get the job done. We don't live in a monarchy and the president is in charge (well it's become that lately because everyone thinks we are a democracy).I did listen to the video. It was all small government this, small government that. Except Reagan made the government bigger. His message is meaningless. Even he didn't believe it.
True, but Reagan also spent a ton of money in the Arms Race. Everyone swore he was going to get in a nuclear war. He bankrupt the USSR. I hate he grew the debt, but it was the right thing if you remember those days. Korean war, Vietnam, Cuban crisis, and Iran/Iraq war, Afghanistan and others were the work of the USSR. He stopped it all for years.Yep, the war in Vietnam that began under LBJ and the Ds had severe consequences down the road, no question about it. War always makes for inflation down the road...
Vietnam war ended in 1975. Carter took office in 1977. Not sure you realize it, but you just excused inflation under Carter.Yep, the war in Vietnam that began under LBJ and the Ds had severe consequences down the road, no question about it. War always makes for inflation down the road...
So as soon as the new president takes over everything that happens has nothing to with the previous? Be careful how you answer because I'll jump on the other thread you just posted on and call you out.Vietnam war ended in 1975. Carter took office in 1977. Not sure you realize it, but you just excused inflation under Carter.
Reagan didn't take office until 1981. Are you telling me that Vietnam War related inflation went into hibernation Carters entire presidency and only decided to wake up after Reagan was in control? So as soon as the new president takes over everything that happens has nothing to with the previous? Eisenhower and JFK got us into Vietnam before LBJ escalated. Then Nixon undermined a possible peace deal to help win the 1968 election.Yep, the war in Vietnam that began under LBJ and the Ds had severe consequences down the road, no question about it. War always makes for inflation down the road...
Which president started the Vietnam War?Eisenhower and JFK got us into Vietnam before LBJ escalated. Then Nixon undermined a possible peace deal to help win the 1968 election.
Try reading a little harder...Vietnam war ended in 1975. Carter took office in 1977. Not sure you realize it, but you just excused inflation under Carter.
And that whole little defeating and dismantling communism and collapsing the Soviet Union thing.Reagan was not much more than an actor who used his oratory skills to talk his way into office. He grew the size of the government after he took office and tripled the debt. All he really stood for were rich tax cuts.
This is largely a myth. Reagan, and to be fair no president, got much of any traction convincing the USSR to disband. It took Gorbachev to do the heavy lifting after he got in during Reagan's second term. During Reagan's first term he went nowhere with talks. And that whole little defeating and dismantling communism and collapsing the Soviet Union thing.
It's really impossible to have any legit interactions with you. Your post was talking about Carter and somehow you twist it into Reagan because I called you out on your BS.Reagan didn't take office until 1981. Are you telling me that Vietnam War related inflation went into hibernation Carters entire presidency and only decided to wake up after Reagan was in control?
