Recruiting for next season…..

I'd make a call to Zan Fuggit and gauge his interest. He looked like a big 133 and could grow into a nice sized 141 and has 3 years left. He could solve the 141 problem. He made big strides this year, imagine what our lightweight coaches could do for him.

Here's the icing on the cake. He's tight with Luke Lilledahl as they traveled all over the country for years with team Missouri and their families are friends. I'd be shocked if LL can hold 125 for 3 more years and Ono will be the guy for at least 2 years at 133. Maybe he'd be interested in taking over for Drake at 133 with his buddy holding down 141. It would be a much easier commute for his parents from St. Louis to see him wrestle.
Wisconsin is not allowed to have nice things

I was most impressed with Fuggit at the tournament. Kid is strong and was super impressive all weekend. I told countless folks he’d be a great Hawk.

Lachlan McNeil entered the portal. That should be a high priority target at 149 and would be a great addition to the HWC after he graduates. He'll be wrestling at the world championships every year for Canada.
But do we really need to be training foreigners how to beat us? 😁

Jordan Williams and Nasir Bailey from Little Rock in the portal. There's your Franek/Caliendo double up opportunity. Williams took Henson to SV and lost to his former teammate in the r12. Bailey was 3rd last year and did not place this year. It's widely assumed he'll be at 141 next year.

Two potential high AAs with multiple years of eligibility left. This is a no brainer. It does suck to steal from Little Rock though.

So many guys that would “fit” perfect at Iowa says everyone. We will see how many land in ia city. No 1 year rentals, let’s go after guys who can grow and be in the lineup for multiple years, aaaaaand not be 25 and their bodies be used and abused and put away wet.

Hard pass on Williams, he was a problem in Stillwater, Little Rock gives him a chance when no one else would and he jumps ship. No thanks. My money would be on Estrada over Williams next year. Bailey on the other hand makes sense. Looks to be a 141 pounder the next couple years and would be moving closer to home.
