Strikes much like elections have consequences.

Iconic US manufacturer to move production to Mexico after 187 years.

So far in 2024, John Deere has laid off around 1,830 workers - at the same time it is moving more of its tractor and farming gear manufacturing to Mexico.

They layoffs are across several Iowa sites - Ankeny, Dubuque, Ottumwa, Urbandale, Waterloo - plus Davenport and East Moline in Illinois, as well as a research center in Urbandale.

In many instances, production that these US workers were responsible is being shifted to new locations in Mexico. It is a decision that upset workers and some political leaders.

Hopefully the union can find jobs for all these workers who held the company hostage.

Caterpillar Inc. had a similar problem in the 1980's in Illinois.
The UAW got too strong with an almost year long strike. So
Cat shifted production to some right to work states like
Indiana and some others in the south. Cat broke the union
power in Illinois.

What would you rather see, Rico? The Waterloo union workers losing their jobs or Trump preventing the jobs being outsourced with his tariff threat?

Democrats are on the side of John deere, interestingly enough..

But they didn't know that until they were able to discern Trump's position,.. I hope he never comes out in favor of motherhood,.. Oh wait.

It's better to cut the tax rate for JD or give them a tax credit and keep the jobs in America.

There has to be some type of INCENTIVE.

Those losing their jobs can thank the UNION for ultimately screwing them. The last people to be let go are the UNION officials.

Sad the rank and file membership were duped by the UAW.
