Republican flees after DOGE question from a vet…

True statement

Veteran Status

Individuals who have served in the uniformed military service constituted a considerable segment of the federal workforce. At the end of fiscal 2023, 30% of federal employees were veterans compared to 5% of the total employed U.S. civilian labor force. In the same year, 25% of new federal hires were veterans.

Thanks. It’s hard to even bring up facts around this place without being accused of a MAGA leaning bastard.
It is codified that veterans have preference.

I'm sorry to see @jamesvanderwulf going where he is going
Sorry you are misconstruing what I posted off a site linked by @NoleinATL ...

Voters, minus true MAGA, aren't going to forget this.

I fully expect a significant number of incumbent Republicans won't be running for reelection in purple districts in 2026.
Hell, those in Red districts might not.
The only question is how much damage President Musk does before then?

Because of gerrymandering there are very few purple districts. This guy in Kansas is completely safe.

Do you condone the response from the Senator? That is what this thread is about.
Actually I couldn't understand a word he said in the video. Looked like he evaded the question. My comment was factual in nature as related to the table @NoleinATL linked. To which he responded to me " TRUE, " then went on to say:

" it could be a hot-button issue among their base, so it would have been prudent to keep that number as low as possible while still making cuts. " Also TRUE. I agree it could be a hot button issue among their base. Lots of things are hot button issues for the Democrats...

That's a lot of babbling to avoid the question.

Since you trying to grasp at straws here and coming up empty, answer this question. Under which party ( hint Clinton/Obama ) was the D of D's budget cut 12 of 16 years not only in real numbers but as a % of GDP? Since we know from the table ( the one linked ) that Vets make up 46% of those jobs, exactly who do you guess was hurt most in '93 -'01 and '09 - '17? Maybe Vets?

LOL, white people in rural America are getting angry. This isn't what they were promised.
This further cements my opinion that the GOP treats veterans, and cops, like useful props. Great when they line up behind you for some flag waiving, but terribly inconvenient and awfully noisy when you are f***ing them over.

You could see this freight train coming a mile away. The oligarchs see rural people as subhuman. Here’s what people don’t realize, there is no voting our way out of this. Just wait and see.

WTF does that have to do with the question posed to you?

Grasping at straws is epic projection on your part.

Maybe these vets should go out into the private sector and prove their worth instead of just taking up space and making the taxpayers spend money that they don’t need to be spending. What’s so God awful about that?

That’s what I have been saying. We had our chance and not enough people listened. Our elections are going to be meaningless. Just like Russia. Hungary. We blew it.

Vance was heckled coming into the town and even could not have fun skiing. The chickens are coming home to roost. People are waking up and getting pissed. Putin’s minions have been too ham fisted and obvious, thankfully. There is no hiding it.
