Republican Reps Are Plotting To Expel Gaetz

What do you have to do to get kicked out of an entity that has no morals and ethics? Help a mother and her child AFTER birth? Give a homeless dude some food? Provide an abortion to a woman you're not sleeping with or married to? Actually do something helpful for a vet?

Gaetz is a son of a political family in a district full of retired lower level military types who drive around with hats on that tell the world they’re retired military and tee shirts that have various slogans on them. They are from all over the country. He spouts what they want to hear, just like Trump does. As long as he reinforces their fairly simpleton world views he’s going to win. Plus the Democrats can’t find reasonable alternatives to run against him, but they have that problem statewide.
DeSantis is a Florida native from a blue collar family who earned his way into Yale and Harvard. He’s been consistent in his positions and apparently Floridians from the Panhandle to the Keys approve because he crushed his opponent.
Come back when you understand Florida politics.
I admit. I don't understand Florida politics. Or Iowa politics. I don't understand governing based on revenge.

I didn't know it was possible to be such an asshole that you can push other Republicans to actually doing something about you. Being a complete asshole is kind of the first requirement to becoming a Republican politician. Ted Cruz still has a job, after all.

I can only guess that some Republicans have finally gotten the message that they are witnessing the death throws of their party, this is not a "phase", and if they continue to sit on the sidelines and do nothing they will belong to a party that is regarded with a similar kind of contempt that being part of the Nazi party is today.

At any rate, I'm glad to see there is talk of this as it means there is progress but ultimately I'll believe it when I see it.

Pretty much what DeSantis does (or tries to do) with his war on woke obsession, his anti-Fauci/anti-vax stances and now his ‘stone cold dead’ silliness. Among other things.

DeSantis had also benefited from crappy Dem candidates.

By all accounts nobody liked Ron when he was in the House either. Even his colleagues.

I don’t think they’re all that different.

Think what you want (or are fed). Many who don’t live here believe that.

Between Gaetz vs McCarthy and the sane Republicans vs Matty...gonna be an interesting week.

Can't imagine Wall St will be thrilled, tho.

The Dems could run Jesus Christ himself and Gaetz would still carry 65% of the vote there.

YOU have frequently commented about how DeSantis benefited from the Dems nominating weak candidates. It's accurate- in both of his Gov runs the Dem nominee has been, at best, uninspiring.

LOL, you just gave the middle finger to at least 3 posters here. Nice.
Admit it, you'll vote for Gaetz over any Dem ever. Be it for governor, or senator. That's what I understand about your politics.

What ethics report? I’m trying to think of what he could possibly do for Republicans to oust him.
Gaetz is a political liability and most of the House R’s know it.

He seems to be on a mission to turn the House back over to the D’s…

He'll just get reelected again in a year. I'd pick one of the reps that doesn't have much money. Let Gaetz keep his job. Then u see how many reps will want to attach themselves to his shenanigans.
Like the idea but I think Gaetz should be the preferred target.

Gaetz just noted on CNN that he's a 12 year lawmaker, but can't point to any accomplishments like his supposed war on debt.
Any time you read about Gaetz and it includes "12 year" I start to worry about what comes next. Rather surprised it was not followed by "old date",

I guess he likes them older than 12, like 16 or 17.

He's an easy scapegoat, and all of a sudden it's a problem as the R's are facing big losses in 2024. Let's not pretend that if Goetz goes, the demographics that are going to vote straight blue are going to soften on the rest of the R's.
