Richard Pitino, Jr. on the ropes?

The last 5 Gopher coaches going back to 1971 (that coached more than 25 games - couple of short timers in there) had a combined winning % of 56.3%. That's almost 50 years of Goof BB.

Pitino is 54.4%.

Just sayin'

Lick was utterly terrible and is gone. Barta is still terrible.....still here.
Lick was clearly the problem with thise Iowa teams not Barta.
Not to defend Barta as I have no information either way but Lick sucked and he was clearly baffled as to what he should do most of the time.

Pitino now sports an overall 52-85 B10 conference record. Today's game was essentially a "must win" for the Gopher's NCAA tournament prospects. If the sentiment over at the Hole is representative of the fan base at large, Minnesota's AD will be under considerable pressure to make a coaching change in about 5-6 weeks. Absent a miracle finish, I think he may be as good as gone.

Richard Pitino is 46-78 in Big Ten Conference Regular Season games (37.1%).

Minnesota plays Indiana twice, Northwestern, Nebraska, Maryland and Wisconsin.

The Gophers will likely win at least 3 more, which means a 9-11 B1G finish. Not great, but they won't be far behind Iowa.
