Hawkeye great Randy Duncan passed away last evening. Last QB to lead the Hawks to a Rose Bowl victory, Heisman trophy runner-up, number 1 draft choice, etc. But above all, a humble and great guy. RIP Dunc.

Indeed, Randy personified what it meant to be a Hawkeye in the 1950s era. He will not be forgotten.
Sad news, indeed! This longtime Gopher fan enjoyed watching the televised game in which Randy Duncan and the great 1958 Hawkeye team dismantled the California Bears in the 1959 Rose Bowl. I was a sixth grader growing up in Detroit Lakes, MN at that time. IMO, I think the 1958 Hawkeyes was one of the best if not the best team in the history of Iowa football
