Rivalries

I check out most of the rest of the BIG's forums from time to time, but the only board I rcontinously see a lot of posts about other teams, is here and Nebbies. Now, I don't know if either teams players consider the Hawkeye Cornhusker game a rivalry game, and regardless of whether Nebbie considers Iowa a rivalry, there is one with the fans. Nebbie fans act like there is no rivalry, but did they spend this much time on ISU's board, and we don't spend this much time on Bucky's boards. But I can pick a random day and check out either the Iowa or Nebbie board, and usually there is a thread about the other. Like this one.....LOL

It is the start of a rivalry. The new AD, Moos has even said he wants it to be a rivalry. He is trying to reverse the decision to switch away from the day moving the Iowa Nebraska game away from the day after Thanksgiving.

Husker fans think of their team as better then Iowa and on Par with WI. They want to return to the days of being on par with U of M, PSU and OSU. They are hopeful the second coming (Coach Frost) will do at UNL as Franklin did at PSU.

What we need is both teams finishing on the top 25 year end and year out so that the games make a real difference.

Michigan isn't on par with the PSUs/OSUs. Michigan is in the same boat as Nebraska. Desperately trying to regain former relevance. Only they are doing it with a slightly better W/L record.

What is more sad, a Cinderella blue blood wanna be, or a princess fallen from grace as Michigan and Nebby. I don't think Michigan ever hit rock bottom, but in there fans eyes they did.

actually the only real diff here is Evy retired and Devaney did not, if Evy would have coached from 60 to 75 or so Iowa would be a blue blood, still play ND every year etc....

Slightly OT but there is a pretty heated rivalry going on between my bowels and my toilet post Christmas/Christmas Eve feasts. Both sides putting up a good fight and not backing down.

I did not know that. I never really paid attention to Nebbie until they were in the BIG. I knew they had below zero respect for Iowa State, but for the most part, we did to. LOL

Well let's not forget from 2002-2010 they lost to ISU 3 times so I doubt they have much love for them either.
