Rumors that he was interviewed. No idea if it's true, but the more I watch him and listen I'm actually on board if Iowa can't land McCollum. The guy is young, but seems like he could be the real deal. Especially if Brad Stevens approves.
He's my #1 if it's not McCollum. I think there is more upside than others that have been mentioned.I don't think it'll get to that point but I like that she interviewed him as one of the backup plans. I assume he was a recommendation from Brad Stevens since he played and coached under him. Very young but he's already got a lot of NBA experience under mostly very good coaches. I'd like it a lot as an upside swing and take that over someone like Wardle or Forbes. I bet his name pops up again in the next Butler search.
Hmmm 🤔 I like him! Seems to be very connected to his players. Reminds me of Marcus Freeman ND football coach. He looks about 21 years old. Another version of BJ!
I like what I see, seems like a really grounded guy who can relate to younger players - definitely worth an interview…He's my #1 if it's not McCollum. I think there is more upside than others that have been mentioned.
Can He Recruit!?
LIKEY. was thinking exact same thing. same baby face too.He looks about 21 years old. Another version of BJ!
I think he could do all those things. Would you rather have Steve Forbes? No. Please get someone who’s a head coach, with a winning record who can:
1) attract recruits
2) coach them up.
Looks like Alabama, but played at Butler under Stevens.Where is he from? Midwest?
Possibly, but if you get five years where CHA is rocking again and say a Sweet 16 or better then is it worth it? I say yes. Plus probably better or more engaged NIL.Definitely looks like an interesting candidate. Worth a close look. One question would be would he use Iowa as a stepping stone for bigger programs or to go back to the pros?

Being a Brad Steven's disciple, personable, young and black should certainly lend to being a good recruiter. Can He Recruit!?
Maybe it's time for more young people to step up and carry the load. jmhoI think this is exactly what we need (young, aggressive, hungry and seems like a great guy), my only concern would be fund raising the blue haired crowd (re: old people). jmho
We're probably not going to lose KIngsbury in the Portal, so we got at least one returning scholarship player.
Brad was a Todd Lickliter disciple..Wasn't Todd Lickliter a Brad Stevens disciple?
Hungry coaches moving on/up can do good things for a program while they're here. Ralph Miller and Lute Olson brought us conference championships and a Final Four before moving on to burnish their Hall of Fame credentials elsewhere. I'll certainly accept a coach moving on after 7-8 years if that kind of success comes with it. Having coaches move on because of their success is usually better than having to fire coaches, which is what we've been doing lately.Definitely looks like an interesting candidate. Get a great staff !Strange candidate. Has never been a college basketball head coach, and only has one year of college basketball experience total as an assistant coach at Northern Kentucky.
I would be concerned about a lack of experience with the college game and all that is associated with it (recruiting, etc).
Recruiting would take an immediate jump.Iowa fans, seeing a second black coach
Getting a lot of George Raveling vibes here
