The tuck in or out polo shirt thread gave rise to this derivative question. after brushing your hair do you leave it all perfectly placed or deliberately ruffle it up a bit?

When I keep it shorter, I will style it slightly “messy.” When grown out, it’s a little wavy and will get tucked away.

Wait, what type of hair are we talking about?

good question. conventional hair up top growing on scalp of big head

Kind of related - several years ago we were out on the Oregon coast and went out for pizza. A man who had to be in his 40s or 50s was there with professionally ruffled hair. It just had to be styled in the way that it was "natural".
I think he may have been a musician because the young woman with him couldn't have been out of her 20s and was super cute. She looked like she just stepped off the cover of 17 Magazine. Tall, blond and no butt.

When I had short hair I always wore it messy. The prim look doesn't suit me.

Neatly in order M-F, weekends slightly less in order. My hair is extremely short so my slightly less in order makes me look like a regular cop trying to go undercover.

Perhaps 30 years out of date, but I still like to do the young Hugh Grant hairstyle simply because I can. My beer/wine/whiskey group has a lot of “cue-balls” with attitudes so I can just sit there and quietly rub their noses in it. Takes about 6 weeks of growth to really make it work.
