He had knee surgery after tearing something this summer.

If that’s the reason he’s still out, was something more serious than meniscus tear.
He’s getting an early start on his obligatory severe knee injury. That sucks that he can’t get any experience in the room or in matches his redshirt year. Maybe he can get a medical year if he wants it.
He got hurt at freestyle duals against Greyson Clark he injury defaulted the match and wrestled Fargo a few weeks later . The knee obviously wasn't getting any better so he had to get surgery

He is going through some tough luck right now and making him even better. He is getting mentally stronger due to this injury. He will be our guy at probably 149 next year although I would like to see him at 141. He is going to be really good for us guys. Similar to a Brandon Sorensen type guy.
I saw he was listed at 5’11, he may have outgrown 141. That has to be an insane cut for him.
We need him at 141, and I think they recruited him for that weight, but at his height, it will be a rough cut, and he won’t be able to have much muscle, which will negatively affect his performance. We will have VV, Rathjen, and new California kid at 149 next year, and maybe Colby, who is tall like Block. The cali kid is short but built like Gabe Arnold, so 141 might be hard cut for him also. May have to get lucky with another transfer for 141.
I would take that production all day every day. Sorensen is a beast. 4X AA don't grow on trees. 4,2,3,5. Top 5 all 4 years too.
Estrada definitely won’t be 141. In 2022 and 2023 he won a state title at 145. This year he’s ranked 6th nationally at 152 and he’s ranked #1 at 150 in CA. Block impressed the heck outta me when he dominated Daniel Cepeda. I recall Block looking huge for 138 in that match. Fingers crossed.
So is Peterson the only guy on the roster that could go 141 next year as redshirt freshman?
I believe Koye Grebel is listed at 133/141. There certainly appears to be a possible void.
I guess I mean someone who may have a chance to score a few points at nationals.
If Block can do it and be strong and effective, great. I doubt he is able to hold it more than a year or two.
Peterson would be very small at 141 unless he hit a significant growth spurt.
Well at least we don't have to worry about competing with psu for a 141 transfer next year...
Yep, the season has just gotten started this year and we're already screwed for next year...

Well, seeing he is almost 6ft tall, and on full feed recovering from surgery, my guess would be at least mid 150’s. Not saying he won’t be able to get that thin, but common sense says guys that tall, and possibly still growing , can’t have much muscle to make 141. We could be ok still if we get another high end transfer at 141 like we have going on 4 years now.
Not necessarily true. Haven’t you heard of recruiting over someone?
It's going to be really difficult to recruit over Bartlett/Kasak with a transfer. Mendez? Jack? Would they even be an improvement?
LOL. Every team will recruit over someone if it helps them. Can't wait for the thrilling PK-Facundo showdown in the ECM matches....
