Nothing special here, folks. Nothing will change while we have Fran.

I’ve tried to tell you guys for years, he’s just not a good coach. Neither of his kids belong in the B1G either. Sorry but it’s true.
I'm calling BS on P Mac not belonging in the BIG, he's a RS Freshman rebounding from cancer and was the 75th rated player in his class. You can debate his minutes and usage, but he's a BIG caliber player.I’ve tried to tell you guys for years, he’s just not a good coach. Neither of his kids belong in the B1G either. It won't happen but we need a change at the head coach position.

If the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results, then Fran is one flew over the cuckoo's nest to say the least.I agree. Fran has been here too long. Iowa has reached their ceiling. Fran's stubborn and won't change.
PMac belongs. He's not ready for the B1G Ten, but that's just stupid.
what’s he good at? If I’m so stupid this should be easy. List his pros ...
6'9, athletic, and needs more time to develop into his body.
I didn't say you were stupid, I said your comment about PMac was. You were spot on with everything else.

Unless of course he does not expect different results...If the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results, then Fran is one flew over the cuckoo's nest to say the least.
He's 6'9 and can handle the basketball, agility is well above average for his size, good burst of speed and ability to get vertical....I'm more than willing to barrage Fran for his lack of coaching ability, but P Mac has a lot of talent for a RS Freshman who missed a lot of time due to CANCER. He's definitely raw and needs to develop more, but the talent is there. I promise several other BIG schools would be elated to have him on their team.what’s he good at? fair enough, and I know we’re all pissed off right now.
He played pretty good defense today but he should NOT be shooting 3 point shots on the roadhes 21 same age as Weiskamp. 19 when he graduated HS. Who cares what his recruit rank was 2 years ago. He plays soft on both ends of the floor and On the boards and is a below avg shooter. But some how every game he’s one of our first 1 or 2 guys off the bench. He hasn’t shown much of being a big 10 caliber player yet. Hope he proves me wrong...
If PMac puts in the work and is able to get better/stronger every year, then I think him becoming an Aaron White type of player is very possible. You're right it won't happen.....a Beilein esque hiring of defensive assistant would work but that won't happen either. Fran is an ego driven, stubborn east coasterIt won't happen but we need a change at the head coach position.

Verdict is still out PM. He is definitely more athletic than CM, but they both have very, very ugly shots. Only time will tell if he is all that great.I'm calling BS on P Mac not belonging in the BIG, he's a RS Freshman rebounding from cancer and was the 75th rated player in his class. I think Patrick has some things that could eventually contribute to his being a positive on the floor, but he was beyond brutal today on defense. Also, he needs to learn that a running across the lane floater is a crap shot as is him trying to dunk every attack to the rim. I love the attempt to ram one home on someone once in awhile, but he tries constantly and has little success. He played pretty good defense today but he should NOT be shooting 3 point shots on the road
After looking at the stat lines of both P and C Mac...awful.hes 21 same age as Weiskamp. 19 when he graduated HS. Who cares what his recruit rank was 2 years ago. His length is good on D but he has too many mental lapses and out of position.
This.We fall in love with the three when things are going well.
Something about this university attracts these kinds of coaches like flies to neon lights.I agree. Fran has been here too long. Iowa has reached their ceiling. Fran's stubborn and won't change.
Why do so many people think this is the definition of insanity? Because Albert Einstein said it? Well guess what, he wasn't a psychologist. If the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results, then Fran is one flew over the cuckoo's nest to say the least.
You are aware that he will be 21 in March so the RS freshman angle does not hold water. Of course, this is my opinion.I'm calling BS on P Mac not belonging in the BIG, he's a RS Freshman rebounding from cancer and was the 75th rated player in his class. He's a redshirt freshman who hasn't yet filled out his frame. Of course he's making mental mistakes. He gets about 10 minutes a game so he's not the problem. The problem is Connor and JBo getting so many damn minutes. I wish Fran would be as forgiving of Joe T as he was his sons, though: let him play 20 minutes a game not 4 and see what he can do. Give Ulis 15 minutes per game to see how he develops. Give Murray 30+ minutes per game instead of 15. When he only gives leash to his kids and JBo and keeps it tight on Murray, Joe T, and Ulis, I don't get it. He plays favorites, but why are his favorites always slow white kids? I just don't get it.
minus nunge he’s getting 2nd most minutes off the bench. Patrick provides nothing. As I’ve said he’s 21 so the excuse of filling out the frame goes out the window. Every game he’s getting more than 10min which is too much for how he plays. Then throw in Connor and it’s a joke for what he plays. I hate to say it but his nepotism is an issue especially considering how little his sons contribute.

No, after recovering from cancer as a teenager he will continue to fill out. I don't know why you think he's physically maturing at the same rate as healthy 21 year olds. As far as his minutes, I don't mind them. I think he's been playing well as of late, decent for a bench player. It's not his fault he's the second off the bench instead of Joe T, Ulis, or Perkins. He hustles way more than the starters so I don't mind his time on the court. He's going to continue to get better.
JBo and Connor? Not only will they never get better than they've been, but they e regressed from past years. JBo I understand with the hip surgeries, but it's idiotic of Fran to play him so many minutes at point. Ridiculous. And aside from an occasional good game like Connor apparently had today (I didn't watch, just saw other posts) he's a liability.
